Overview

In this book, which compiles three of his famous Italian ChroniclesThe Cenci, The Duchess of Palliano, and Vittoria Accoramboni—, we find the Italian Renaissance in its purest state, just as the author saw it: crime, adultery, torture, conspiracy, ambition, and vengeance.
