Overview

Ignore the silly "Mr. D.J." intro and you'll discover that Haddon is a bright new presence in the realm of hip-hop gospel who seeks to blend old-school musical values with funky modern production. The thumping grooves and smooth backing vocals behind Haddon's passionate pleas on "D.D." summarize the overall vibe here. Secular audiences can enjoy the beats and his rangy, soulful voice, but he's definitely Christ-centered in his themes. He's not always overly preachy. On the dreamy light funk ballad "Ain't Got Nothing," he's a little more general in his spiritual message, simply explaining that material gain without true love is meaningless. The trip-hoppy atmospheres on "Sinner's Prayer" bring a bit of Lenny Kravitz (minus the electric guitar crunch) to mind, while "My Prayer" would feel even more comfortable on an old Philly soul album. The most attractive songs here are the ambient-heavy ones, but there are a few hardcore gospel stompers too, most notably the Ricky Martin-flavored, Latin-inflected "The Prayers Go (Up Up Up)." Another highlight is a simply produced "Worship Medley," which functions here as a hymn-anthem in between the more produced, commercial material. It's hard to predict whether Haddon will enjoy the big-time crossover success of a Kirk Franklin, but if not, it's not for lack of talent and spiritual commitment.

For those of us who are fans of Deitrick Haddon, you already the man is talented. I enjoyed listening to this CD greatly. It is refreshing to hear truly anointed music from truly saved people. All of the tracks are great including "Oh Yeah" featuring the Great One, Fred Hammond. I would recommend this CD to anyone.

Deitrick Haddon's Lost and Found is the hottest CD I have ever heard. If you really listen to the words of these songs, the message is there. On the song "Stand Still", it seemed like that song was made just for me. I know Deitrick is way over in Detroit, but his words reach all the way down south to lil ol me. I had the pleasure of attending one of his concerts at Coker College inHartsville,SC and I just was blown away by the annointing in the building. If you haven't checked out "LOST AND FOUND" you don't know what you are missing!!

The entire album is wonderful and refreshing. In my moments of sorrow, "After While" ministers to me and lifts me up to go on serving God. "Sinner's Prayer" and "My Prayer" will keep a Holy Spirit filled person reaching out to others. The rest of the album, well, let me just say, I will give four copies away to family and friends to share the 'good news'.

I absolutely love this cd. I am a college student and this cd is perfect for when I want to study or clean my apartment. It provides a lot of energy and passion. I have been a fan of DD since I first saw him on Bobby Jones. He and his wife (Damita) are awesome. Keep up the good work. Continue to bring forth positive music.

5Stars for sure. This is the best Christian CD I have heard since this new age movement with the shift of gospel Music. It has a mixture of everything, but most of all it ministers. He is so versatile, and is flavor is a divine unique blessing.

Where have I been? On Saturday, January 31st I watched the Stella Awards. For the first time I heard Deitrick Haddon sing. He sang "Sinners Prayer", I've never seen him before, didn't know he existed! Either I've got to get out more or he needs more exposure. The man is off the hook! I immediately logged on to the computer, pulled up my music vendor and ordered the CD "Lost and Found". I would love to have the DVD if one is available.

I MUST SAY, WHILE GOING THROUGH MY COUSIN'S SELECTION OF MUSIC THE TITLE SINNER'S PRAYER CAUGHT MY EYE. SINCE THAT DAY, I HAVEN'T BEEN ABLE TO GET THE SONG OUT OF MY HEAD. I LOVED IT SO MUCH THAT I GOT THE ENTIRE ALBUM. WHEN I AM DOWN AND OUT I LISTEN TO HIS VOICE AND LIFTED UP. YOU ARE THE REASON WHY I SMILE TODAY, WELL, PART OF THE REASON. GOD BLESS YOU!!!
