Saw the movie "Philomena." This book, on which the movie is based, is really about her son. It contains so much more than the movie, which is only the mother's story and that is a small part of the whole story. This tells about the political and religious situation in Ireland at the time regarding babies of unwed mothers. It tells about her son's situation being dropped into a new family in a new culture at a time when they didn't know how to help these kids. It tells about his life as a gay man working in the republican political life of the country, in the Reagan administration. It tells about his lifelong desire and efforts to find his mother, which were thwarted. It is a fascinating story from a whole different point of view and I recommend it highly!
