Lost Dorsai: The New Dorsai Companion contains the Hugo Award winning novella, Lost Dorsai, and Dickson's classic short story "Warrior."
Plus, the New Dorsai Companion contains, for the first time ever, an all new Concordance to the Childe Cycle - a roadmap of Dickson's massive and brilliant creation. The Concordance will let you know not only in which books or stories a person or place is mentioned, but will give a brief history or biography that explains their significance in the Cycle. It's a Who's Who of the future - and no science fiction reader should be without it.
A new and expanded companion to the Childe Cycle that no Dorsai fan will want to be without. The book contains an all new, complete Concordance to the Childe Cycle, the novella-length Lost Dorsai, and Dickson's classic short story "Warrior."

***6th Book of the Childe Cycle**** Somehow, after reading 'Dorsai!', one can be lulled into the belief that Donal Graeme was the only truly great man of The Dorsai; that his abilities must surely outdo all others. Then we read about Paul Formain, Cletus Grahame, and Amanda Morgan, and find some elements of courage and honor, but not the genius of insight and tactical/political expertise of Donal Graeme. Not until this book. Kensie and Ian Graeme are fully explored and we see that there is something about the entire Graeme family that is beyond the abilities of the normal Dorsai (of course, those abilities of the 'normal' Dorsai far exceed that of the full spectrum Earthman). But what of the average Dorsai? Can anything more be written to explain his inner motivations and observations of the rest of humanity about him? This book does just that. Note - this is not one of the many stand alone novels of the Childe Cycle. It can not be enjoyed without having read 'The Spirit of Dorsai' because of certain events that happen there. This collection of novellas also explores the the world of Ceta and the Splinter Culture of humanity living there. But the most important contribution of this book to the Childe Cycle is the 'Concordance', an appendix at the back of the book written by David W. Wixon after apparently extensive interviews with Mr. Gordon R. Dickson. This APPENDIX is what SciFi fans want to see: detailed explainations of the astronomical features of the 14 inhabited worlds of humanity, the names and physical characteristics of the Stars they orbit (relative to the Sun), their celestial locations (relative to Earth), detailed explanations of each worlds' ecology/society/political systems, and *****BE WARNED***** such detailed biographies of the main characters of the Childe Cycle as to be 'spoilers' to those who have not yet read the preceding 5 books!!!!!! If you trust yourself explicitly, you can risk having this book even while reading the first five. But for those of us who can't wait to open it...FAR BETTER TO LET THIS ONE ALONE UNTIL YOU HAVE READ THE OTHERS. This book can give too much information TOO SOON!!!!!
