This book is a must read for church leadership. Every day, people are dying without understanding the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. We can no longer evangelize as we did 50 years ago. We are in a different culture now. You would not evangelize in Africa without first learning the culture. It would not be effective. The same is true for America. Read this book and you will see why.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Clegg and Bird do a supurb job at inspiring a new way of looking our country. Living in a land where people think they know what faith in Christ is about, but who largely lack any personal relationship with him, we need to rethink our way of presenting Him. Culture is not the enemy. And if, in our attempts to preserve the faith, we force it in to perceived irrelevance we will fail in our mission. Lost in America challenges us to build bridges to our culture instead of insulating ourselves from it.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Lost in America is a must read for Orthodox--and any other-- Christians who wish to take the Great Commission seriously. America is a seriously underevangelized nation and things are only going to get worse unless Christians stop fooling themselves. Clegg and Bird challenge many of the assumptions that have lulled the Christian community into resting at ease in Zion. Readers will be challenged 'to look with fresh eyes at the outward focus their local church needs to pursue.'Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. America a mission field? When this question was first posed to me I laughed. However, it is true. Clegg & Bird make a compelling case that America truly has become a mission field! Lost in America is filled with gripping statistics and heartfelt stories from the authors own lives. After completing the book, the reader will have the tools and the passion needed to become a missionary to their neighborhood or city! This book should be read by every church leader in America, whether staff or lay person. It is time to re-evangelize America! I couldn't put it down. If you're asleep, this book will wake you up! If you're awake, this book will light the fire to go and DO something! If the fire is already burning, this book will fan that flame even bigger and brighter! Pastors buy this book for your whole leadership team and study it together, then make plans accordingly! I found this tool practical, relevant, challenging and inspiring! Was this review helpful?
