Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble

First published way back in 1987, Ronald Dale Karr's Lost Railroads of New England can be described best as a superb reference book that has become truly superlative. This third edition contains dozens of maps (all of them new); 80 archival and current photographs and illustrations; rewritten directory entries; and other features. A perfect resource for hands-on local historians.

Library Journal
For this update of the 1989 original, Karr, a reference librarian at the University of Massachusetts, Lowell, has included newly discovered information. Train buffs everywhere will love this.

    Great start for railroad hunters

Well researched and detailed descriptions of the old rail lines of New England. It's been the basis for many day trips around Rhode Island, exploring the history and geography of the area while tracking down the old rail lines.
