Brenden’s on his way to the beach when he makes a pit stop in a tiny desert town called Live Oak Springs Township. It’s a weird place, no question. Maybe even frightening. It doesn’t take long for Bren to realize that something in L.O.S.T. isn’t right—and it might be that witchy girl in the general store.
Jasmina Corey has a secret, and a very big problem. Bren may be the solution. Her magic tells her that Bren has a warrior’s heart, that he might be the one to help her defeat a creature so evil it threatens to destroy the witching world and all of humanity, too. Too bad he hates her on sight. Too bad she might have to kill him.
PLEASE NOTE: The L.O.S.T. trilogy was previously published under the pseudonyms Debbie Federici and Susan Vaught.
R.S. Collins grew up on a ranch in rural southeastern Arizona, close to the border of Mexico. Now she’s a full-time writer who has penned many novels under another pseudonym and lives in metropolitan Phoenix, a long way from out in the country where she was raised. She majored in journalism at the University of Arizona and ended up in a couple of different careers before being fortunate enough to write for a living. R.S. started writing as a kid and often turned school writing projects that were supposed to be mere paragraphs into novellas. She always dreamed of magic and distant places, things that were different and unique. Her imagination took her on flights of fantasy, travels to other worlds. Reading was something R.S. did constantly. She would get lost in the worlds that authors created and it was something that she wanted to do someday, too. Following the release of the L.O.S.T. trilogy, R.S.’s Sign of the Crescent will be published in April, 2013.
Susan Vaught lives with her family and her many pets (including a very bossy parrot) on a small poultry farm in Western Kentucky. She works as Director of Psychological Services at a state psychiatric facility, and she spends her evenings and weekends furiously scribbling and typing life into novels, short stories, and poems. She has written a number of fantasies for young adults, including the award-winning and historical Stormwitch and the epic Oathbreaker books: Assassin’s Apprentice and Prince Among Killers, co-authored with her son JB Redmond and published by Bloomsbury Children's. She has also written Trigger, Big Fat Manifesto, Exposed, Going Underground, and Freaks Like Us, with Bloomsbury Children's, all contemporary novels drawing from her experiences and her work as a neuropsychologist. Up next, the revised and improved L.O.S.T. fantasy trilogy with co-author R.S. Collins (January, 2013), and Asylum (Bloomsbury, TBA), a creepy collection of ghost stories that take place in a haunted mental hospital.
