Who is Geronimo Stilton?
That's me! I run a newspaper, but my true passion is writing tales of adventure. Here in New Mouse City, the capital of Mouse Island, my books are all bestsellers! My stories are full of fun -- tastier than Swiss cheese and tangier than extra-sharp cheddar. They are whisker-licking-good stories, and that's a promise!

Lost Treasure of the Emerald Eye
It all started when my sister, Thea, discovered an old, mysterious map. It showed a secret treasure hidden on a faraway island. In no time at all, my sister dragged me and my cousin Trap into her treasure hunt. It was an adventure I'd never forget....

The Barnes & Noble Review
Geronimo Stilton, a reporter mouse with a taste for adventure (and an even bigger taste for cheese), stars in this action-packed first installment of the internationally acclaimed series.

With Geronimo himself labeled as the author, the book is set in New Mouse City, Mouse Island, where the author runs The Rodent's Gazette. Readers are quickly introduced to him and his sister, Thea, who whisks a surprised Geronimo on a sailing trip to locate a buried treasure called The Emerald Eye. The two also recruit their jokester cousin, Trap Stilton, to help sail the boat, and after a long trip that involves Geronimo getting sick from frozen clams, the discovery of a stowaway on board, and plenty of other dramatic events, they arrive on Treasure Island -- only to find that the island is not as deserted as they thought. To their chagrin, Geronimo and family don't quite get the treasure they'd hoped for, but as they leave Treasure Island, the secret behind The Emerald Eye becomes crystal clear.

An inventive first book marked with likable characters, full-color illustrations, and fast-moving text that uses various fonts and design elements to make reading a blast, Lost Treasure will have kids hooked on Geronimo Stilton. This mousy hero is no pipsqueak, and with other books featuring these and even more characters -- including the editorial staff of The Rodent's Gazette -- he's set to become the big cheese with readers young and old. Matt Warner

My 7 year old has enjoyed this more than any chapter book I have seen him read. He can't wait to read more. He just finished his second and enjoyed it as much. He says they are great stories. I would recommend them for little boys without question.

This was the first book from the Geronimo Stilton that my 7 year daughter has read. She is addicted she loves reading them they keep her interested and she is usually laughing about something going on in the story. There are times I have to tell her to put the book down to get to bed. I really love how color is incorporated within the words of the story. I would recommend this series it encourages children to read and the artwork and layout of the book is great!

The eBook version is just a photocopy of the book. As a result there is no ability to increase font size, zoom, do dictionary lookups or anything - it's actually worse than reading the print version. The series is great, the eBook is not.

I thought this was a really good book. My favorite character (besides Geronimo Stilton) was Geronimo¿s cousin, Trap. He is very funny. Thea finds a treasure map and she gets Geronimo and Trap to go looking for the treasure. The scariest part of the book was when the Lucky Lady sank! The most exciting part is when Geronimo finally sees the Emerald Eye! I also like the way the book is printed with the words being different colors and styles. It has lots of pictures and maps too. It makes it easier for me to read it. I am going to read all fifty titles as they are translated from Italian to English!

My new chapter reader is thrilled about this series which is unlike any other that we've seen. There's a great map, a character reference insert (the story develops characters which is a higher level than other series for this age) and the content has substance. Really fun and interesting.

You have found the best series if you just bought #1 of G.Stilton. With different fonts and colors your child 'children' will love to read this book. Meet Geronimo a mouse he owns a NewsPaper. He is always late for work and has 1 annoying cousin, Trap an annoying sister, Thea and a loving nephew, Bengamin. He is scared of a lot of things. He has a lot of fun advntures you will love to read. They are my favorite book series. If you like cheese you will like Geronimo. He has whisker licking good tales. These books are Easy To Read. Even though they look hard to read they are easy. So go to the Book Store and but Geronimo Stilton #1!
