Children's LiteratureLouie does not go anywhere without his red stuffed goose named Rosie. Louie and Rosie are at the beach having adventures together when Rosie starts to fall apart. Luckily Mommy is able to fix Rosie. Later, when Rosie starts to fall apart again, Daddy is able to fix her. Louie then goes off with Rosie to build a sandcastle, and while he's not looking, Rosie is carried off by a big wave. Louie has to rescue her, but he is running out of time! This book doesn't have much of a plot, but a very young child will enjoy it anyway because they will be able to relate to Louie's love for his "best friend." The vibrant painted illustrations really draw the listener into the story. It is a fun book for a toddler. 2002 (orig. 2000), Houghton Mifflin Co, Ages 2 to 5.
