Must for those Interested in Tiffany, Arts & Crafts & Art Nouveau

As a graduate student studying architecture in 1954 at Yale University, Robert Koch first encountered the then out of fashion works of Louis Comfort Tiffany. This encounter triggered Dr. Koch's life long interest in Tiffany and 3 books on the subject. His first, 'Rebel in Glass', published in 1964, was a catalyst for the rediscovery of the genius of Tiffany and revived interest in his work. Dr. Koch rounded out the story of Louis Comfort Tiffany with two more important books. Since the release of 'Rebel in Glass', many others have published works on Tiffany. None, however, matches the scholarship and importance of the Koch voumes. In fact, most simply are picture books that have great eye appeal but add little to the understanding of Tiffany that Dr. Koch provides through his work. 'The Collected Works of Robert Koch' combines his 3 books into one extremely useful volume suitable for reading pleasure and for reference purposes. Moreover, Dr. Koch has added wonderful new photographs that illustrate why Tiffany ranks among the very best in the history of American art. As a university professor of art history, Dr. Koch's influence was strong in reviving interest in Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts, both movements popular around 1900. His Tiffany work, however, places Dr. Koch forever in the forefront of American art historians. Everyone interested in Tiffany, Art Nouveau and Arts & Crafts should own this work.
