Once the trance boom began to subside during the mid-2000s in America, fans had to look mainly overseas for European collections, which often were dicey propositions, especially when import-price hikes were factored in. Luckily for fans, a few stateside labels stuck with trance and continued to champion it, among them the mighty Moonshine label in the City of Angels. And no release better exemplified Moonshine's continued support of trance during its stateside recession than Love 2 Trance, a mammoth three-CD, 40-track collection compiled by the label's head honcho, Steve Levy, and mixed by the label's studio hand, Christian Dwiggins -- names you can trust. The three-plus hours of high-bpm dancefloor burners include quite a few notable tracks, including productions by such well-known artists as Paul van Dyk, DJ Tiësto, BT, Ferry Corsten, and Micro. Certainly not for the faint of heart, this marathon listening experience is best suited toward those stateside tranceheads who are frustrated by the lack of domestically released mixes. If you're one of those people, lament no more: Love 2 Trance is the treasure trove of trance that you've been hoping for, and a remarkably well-assembled one at that.
