Connie Van Dam, a lonely 40-year-old elementary schoolteacher, became pregnant after she was violently attacked and raped. Despite this horrific experience, she resolved to have the baby, believing that the child would be a healing force in the world. Ostracized from her close-knit family, she moved to Holland with her grandmother. Within a week, she met Willem, her grandmother's widower gardener, who was raising a young daughter on his own. They soon discovered an amazing coincidence. On the same night of Connie's ordeal and impregnation, a drunk driver had killed Willem's wife, three months pregnant at the time. Brought together by these events, they grew closer and were married. Together, they are now raising two daughters.
Gordon Miller was devastated when his wife, Ruby, died during childbirth. To ease his grief, he began keeping a journal of his dreams. In one dream, Ruby appeared and instructed him to find a mother for their daughter. She guided him to a man with short curly black hair and a moustache who led Gordon to a woman standing in front of a table of jewelry. Gordon took the dream to heart. He and his daughter, Summer, began attending trade shows in search of this mysterious woman. Long after they had given up hope that the woman in the dream could ever be found, they met Melissa at a crafts fair when she handed Summer a beaded crown from her jewelry stand. Gordon revealed his dream to Melissa and they were shocked to discover that the man in the dream was a perfect description of Melissa's deceased husband. How did the power of love and the hand of fate bring these two lonely people together?

I came across this book after I met who I thought was my soulmate. It helped me to understand all of the relationships that I had been thru to get to that point. Although we are no longer together I trully believe in 'Love & Fate'. I have given several copies to various friends and will continue to share this wonderful book. Was this review helpful?
