The course of true love is running anything but smooth for Travis and Kitty.
The Coltrane Saga, Book 3
Together at last, Kitty Wright and Travis Coltrane are married and rebuilding her North Carolina farm. But despite his love for Kitty and his son, Travis is not one to be content behind a plow. And when President Grant asks him to be a government emissary to Santa Domingo to explore establishing military bases there, Travis cannot resist the lure of adventure.
Kitty is heartbroken but tries to understand. Then an old nemesis shows up—Luke Tate. He has always desired Kitty and abducts her, taking her West. When Travis returns to find Kitty gone, he places his son in the care of a friend, then goes after Tate, only to be told that Kitty is dead.
It is only much later, when he sees Kitty working in a hospital, that he realizes she is not dead, but is suffering from amnesia after a severe beating. She does not know who he is…does not know who she is.
With love, patience, and pure stubbornness, Travis is determined to regain the one thing he can’t live without—Kitty’s love.
This book was originally published in March, 1982 by Avon Books.
Warning: Set in the gritty years after the Civil War, this book is realistic in its portrayal of the hard lives and times of the war’s survivors.

The continution of this story was great. If you enjoyed the first book this is a must, The story of Kitty and Travis is a great read however I must admit the contining trouble Kitty finds herself in time after time and Travis and his manwhorish ways do get a little tiring but you just want them to have a happy ending.

THis is part of an 8 book series. I got the first one, Love and War as a freebie and was hooked immediately. I purchased the next 7 in the series (all <$5). You fall in love with the main characters and can hardly wait to see what happens in their lives in the next book. The series goes through 3 generations of this family. This a historical fiction series and starts with the Civil War era ending with Revolution War. THere are many travels between USA and Europe once the Civil War ends and their lives evolve. This was a great read!!!!!!

This book reminds me so much of Ronnie and Sams relationship from the Jersey Shore. Love than hate than anger than lust. Confusing but addictive its like watching a wreck you want to turn away but you simply cant. It is totally worth your money. Man I wish I could have Travis for myself. SEXY!!
