About the Author

Well, it all began once upon a time. They told me it was 1943. I really don't remember the day that well when I beamed in at Santa Paula, California and got assigned to the blue planet known as the reform school of the Milky Way. They did tell me though, that I tipped the local scale at a cool ten pounds even. Not exactly a hunk, but definitely a significant butterball. I grew up with a chronic runny nose. Some deep psychic significance there, no doubt, plus probably something to do with those creepy smelling school lunches. Most of my school years were spent in Fresno, California. I graduated from Fresno High School in 1961…. barely! Homework seriously interfered with my ability to keep myself depressed and stuck in victim consciousness during most of those growing up years. Graduated from California State University at Los Angeles with a BA in Social Science on my second visit to college. The interruption had both historical and hysterical significance. Perhaps you've heard of it. It was called The Viet Nam War. And to this day I count that experience as one of the most valuable that life has offered me so far. Odd thing to say, surely, but it was one of the rare things that I couldn't wiggle out of, as I did with most things I didn't like in my youth. Bottom line, it gave me a good shake, and in so doing encouraged me to grow up on a lot of levels. And for that I am eternally grateful. Though I never had to point a weapon at anyone and all the bullets that were aimed at me missed, it was just painful and scary enough to set my heart on fire to uncover the deeper meanings of life. And today, that fire burns ever more brightly and has lit my way through over forty years of challenges, relationships, learnings and helped me uncover an ever expanding list of life improving discoveries. As for careers, I've been a musician, worked in the printing industry, operated a small business, and taught middle school and high school for over twenty years. And now I've discovered my best career yet; writing and speaking on the subject of fulfilling life's highest aspirations; which at their core are generic, but as individuals we see them packaged in an infinite variety of intentions as they play out through the lives of billions of souls here, on the cosmic porch! So from my many travels, travails, and discoveries I'll be sharing with you,my insights, stumbles, epiphanies, encouragement and joy, in the hope that you, too, will find access to the all-satisfying
