I did like this for sure, but not more than say, Tweeting Love Birds, which this author also did. This one has multiple stories, though the focus is on the two pictured on the cover. Beautifully drawn boys though. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
I’m a sucker for healing love stories so Love & Trap’s take on one boy’s reaction to bullying is right up my alley. I do wish that the third chapter was excluded though. “Love and Whip” unfortunately falls into an old trap itself by blandly using the device of a potential romantic rival to solidify the authentic nature of the characters’ relationship for the reader. Such a standard and predicable chapter in a book that was otherwise interesting and genuine spoiled my enjoyment a little. The second story “Love Blood” about a runaway who comes to different realizations in meeting an atypical family was more interesting. The last story “We’re Blooming” is my favorite of the book and the story that spawned “Blooming Darling”. A lighter and funnier story about a flower shop and the sometimes very simple things that make someone fall in love was a nice way to round out the book. If you like “We’re Blooming” then definitely check out the author’s follow up series. I think this book is a solid release from the Guild as it read well and looks great on the screen. With a little bit to offer anyone from the dramatic and thought provoking to humorous, I think Love and Trap would find a place in any fujoshi’s library. Was this review helpful?
