Overview

What if the guy in the airplane seat next to you turned out to be the love of your life?

Juliana, happy in her career as a hair stylist, is on her way to visit her boyfriend of ten years who's working out of state. She's wondering why they're not engaged yet. Michael is going to his fiance's parents' home for an engagement party he doesn't want. A states' prosecutor, he's about to try the biggest case of his career, he hates the distraction, and he's having doubts about the relationship.

They sit together on the plane, and discover they're on the same flight coming back. When the weekend is a disaster for each of them, they bond on the plane ride home. But life is full of complications, including their exes, who don't want to let go, and when Michael's trial turns dangerous, the two must confront what they value most in life...

    This book soars

Love At First Flight by Marie Force shows that love can happen when you least expect it.

Baltimore attorney Michael Maguire is trying the biggest case of his young career. He really can't afford a weekend away but his fiancée Paige is demanding his presence in Jacksonville Beach Fla. Michael strikes up a conversation with his seat mate and discovers they are both in long distance relationships.

Hairstylist Juliana Gregorio is flying to Fla. to spend the weekend with her long time boyfriend Jeremy. Jeremy has been away on a job for over seven months and Juliana feels they need to reconnect. Since both Juliana and Michael are returning on the same flight they agree to meet up again on Sunday.

Neither weekend goes as planned. Michael's fiancée family tries once again to control him and he bulks and calls off the engagement. Jeremy reluctantly admits to wondering if the grass is greener on the other side since he and Juliana have dated for over ten years. Juliana wants them to take a three month break with no contact.

The flight home is revealing for both Michael and Juliana. Michael offers her a place to stay since she doesn't want to return to the home she shared with Jeremy. Both are attracted to each other but their past still are playing havoc with their emotions.

Michael's high profile case is causing danger to come extremely close to home. He is willing to do whatever it takes to keep his star witness and Juliana safe. But can he keep his heart safe when Juliana time limit to Jeremy is up?

Love At First Flight is wonderful. Marie Force really makes you feel the gambit of emotions, the highs and the lows. You feel like these characters problems are real and they touch your heart. I feel in love with Ms. Force's work in Line Of Scrimmage and it continues in Love At First Flight. This is an author that is going places.

A MUST READ!!!!!!! This book is so amazing. I loved it. However I started to read "Everyone Loves a Hero" (also by Marie Force) and I realized at about the 15th page, that these characters were mentioned in that book, so I stopped reading that and started with this, and I'm so glad I did. It was just fantastic. I fell in love with Micheal from the very beginning. And for the record, Jeremy is a JERK

    Excellent Romance

I have to say I almost gave up on this one...it was a little slow getting into it. But, once I did, I couldn't put it down. I loved the lawyer aspect- it added a flavor that is usually missing in the usual contemporary romance. I highly recommend it!

    What matters most

Three love stories intertwine in this intriguing modern-day love story with that ever-elusive marriage proposal, or its absence, at the core. Juliana and Jeremy have been together for ten years. They’ve set up home. They’ve shared everything. And the future seems set. Meanwhile Michael and Paige are about to enjoy a high-class engagement party at Paige’s parents’ expense. Michael takes the same flight as Juliana, and temptation sneaks into security.

In the end, life’s not about security of course. Juliana finds herself shaken when Jeremy reveals his own insecurities. Michael is shaken by Paige’s father’s assumptions. And everyone is shaken when Michael’s job as state prosecutor leads to guards around his home, witness protection and more. As real danger threatens, Michael and Juliana both find themselves re-examining what matters most to them.

The author does a nice job of showing love’s different and shakiest foundations. The characters are convincing. The background trial is intriguing and scary. And the gentle touch of new love and burgeoning trust is very nicely done.

For myself, I thoroughly enjoyed the tale, but ended up wondering just how many years of togetherness equate to commitment. Perhaps I just belong to the wrong generation. Love at First Flight is a pleasing love story, filled with complications, nicely balanced with a hint that at least some of our troubles come at our own hands, and beautifully located with enjoyable descriptions of town and countryside in the Eastern US.

Disclosure: I was lucky enough to find a free ecopy of this novel and enjoyed reading it.

    Authentic

I enjoyed the realness of the emotions, true to life. However whati did not like in this book and others of the same genre is how quick the "I love you's" come when the characters have only known one another for a few weeks or so. The story line was great nonetheless and Juliana' s internal struggle over two men was on spot.

    WOW What a book!

This book is going on my list of favorite books! I too stayed up all night and read this book and that is a first for me! I thought I had the book figured out and then another turn to confuse me! The romance is great, the characters have strong personalities and the mini-dramas are wonderful. This book makes several of us I'm sure wishing we had a "Michael" in our lives. Not so impossible to find love on a flight. Know of a couple that are very happily married. Other great books by Ms. Force are the Gansett Island series!

OMG! Wow, what a great story!

I think Nicholas Sparks better watch out, Marie Force's love story is dazzling. The novel engaged me from the start and I was already crying a quarter way through. What Jeremy said at the beginning was definitely hurtful but can you really ding him on being honest? What an emotional dilemma to be in, leave a ten year long relationship which was perfect up until doubt entered the equation, or stay. For most of the book, I didn't think he was a bad boyfriend; therefore, I was torn about how to feel about him or whether or not to root for their relationship until I finally made up my mind near the end. The author did a wonderful job painting these shades of grey. Although who ends up together is predictable, it's in the title for God's sake, she wraps everything up nicely. Michael's story was good as well, just not as interesting to me because it's not as complex. The thrill of the danger surrounding the characters definitely made you turn the pages faster and added more intensity to their relationship. By the end of the book, you grow so attached to the characters and love them. There's something about how crazy in love a guy is for a woman that this author just nails dead on.

    a delightful read

Some people may say the love story is unrealistic; however, it's a book. Books are suppose to take you into a fantasy world to get away from your daily grind. Just enjoy it for what it is, a cute romantic story with a little comedy and a bit of adult fun. I give this book two thumbs up--> b(^__^)d if you like this book, you should checkout her other ones. I personally like this one the best, probably because it was my first "romantic" book. listed in order of my rating: Love at first flight...one of my fave maid for love...amusing Everyone loves a hero...okay True North...okay fool for love... could have skipped it but I have read so many of the author's books at this point that her writing and plot may have just gotten boring for me, resulting in lower rating The Fall...could/should have skipped it The wreck...personally is too sad and slightly disturbing for me I recommend Darkness Dawn, by Dianne Duvall, if you like Paranormal adult romance.

    I Also Recommend:

    Loved this Romance!

LOVED this romance! I never really read contemporary romance before but after this book I'm adding to my auto-buy list:D I fell in love with author Marie Force's Love At First Flight. It's an outstanding contemporary romance and well worth the purchase price! Thanks to Limecello for introducing me to Marie and her book over on her book blog:) The book is about Michael and Juliana who meet on a plane and pretty much click instantly as friends. Both are in current relationships and have a nice chat but don't much expect to see each other again. But fate intervenes and I loved the plot twists and characters. Here's the excerpt Limecello posted that made me want to read the book: "I'm only asking you for one thing, Juliana. Come find me. I'll either be here or in Newport - you know where - and I'll be waiting for you. I don't care if it's a week, a year, five years, twenty years. Find me." "But surely you'll be married with a family -"He shook his head. "Never. It's you or no one. So don't think for a minute I won't still want you or that my pride is too wounded to forgive you. I've already forgiven you. That's how much I love you."

A good read trumps a full night's sleep!

I can't decide who I like more - Juliana or Michael. Juliana is a hair stylist who loves what she does for a living because it makes her feel good when she helps someone feel better about themselves. She is a strong, kind and genuine woman who you'd wish only good things in life.

Michael is a great guy and I thought he was perfect for Juliana. The combination of his strength, tenderness and confidence make him very attractive. Above all else, when Michael realizes the depth of his feelings for Juliana he tells her, but doesn't force her to choose him.

Even though their time together was short of three months, I didn't doubt the depth of their bond or dwell on how it might have built too quickly. I loved seeing their relationship blossom from strangers to friends and ultimately to lovers. The chemistry between the two was amazing.

I read the book from front to back because I couldn't go to sleep not knowing how it all ends. A good read trumps a full night's sleep.

    Awesome love story--a must read!

Ms Force writes a heart wrenching story about two people destined to be together. In the meantime, a few obstacles get in the way. In the end, true love does prevail. This book is a constant page turner and you'll be sad to have read it so quickly.
