Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Fans of the licensed character, Happy Bunny, here making its book debut, will welcome the irreverent It's Happy Bunny Love Bites by Jim Benton. The long-eared fellow offers such advice as "Show that cutey-patootey your smart and sensitive side" while a cartoon with thought balloon shows the suitor attempting to seduce with the lines, "Roses are red./ Violets are blue./ Your butt's funny looking,/ but I think you'll do." Who could resist? Copyright 2005 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature
This is a strange little book and one that is appropriate for older readers. Happy Bunny has an unusual way of expressing his fondness or affection for someone and is often unlucky in love. His advice is to be taken with a grain of salt to say the least and his advice may cause more distress than success. The left hand page offers the advice and the right hand page shows how Happy Bunny executes and why he fails. It is a little bit racy and it does use language that some may feel inappropriate for kids, but nothing that they and you haven't heard. Good for a laugh, but not recommended as a Valentine's gift unless you know your special someone really well. 2005, Scholastic, Ages 12 up.

How can you not love Happy Bunny? His insights on life and love are hilarious, even if they're a little skewed.

This is a fun addition to any home library!

While I was in the bookstore waiting for my boyfriend to buy some textbooks, I picked up this little book to amuse myself. I love Happy Bunny's sarcastic quips, which had me laughing from the very first page! His first bit of advice? Tell your crush how you feel and be sincere. On the next page, a yellow bunny says to her white bunny love interest, 'I sincerely want you to genuinely worship me.' I found myself cracking up outloud in the store! Although this isn't meant to be a serious dating advice book, I think that we could all benefit from having HB's confidence when trying to conquer or (dethrone) a love interest. The Mad Libs-style break up letter at the end was one of the highlights of the book! While the book is overpriced for its thin size, it injected some much-needed laughter into my day. Thank you, Jim Benton!

I just pick up this book, little as it may be, it is full of Happy Bunny attitude! he tells you how to get a date, what to do and how to do it, the 'Happy Bunny' way. The drawings are adorable. On each double-page, on the left there is the 'instruction' and on the right there's an illustration with a Happy Bunny-ish quote. There are always two bunnies: a yellow one (that's you) and a white one (that's your date). The yellow one says something HB-ish and the white one frowns. it's great fun!
