It is good. Just be sure you have not already read it.

Ok, I love to read Lisa Kleypas, I started reading the Hathaway's then went to the wallflowers, this can not even come close to those books, however, in all fairness, It is Lisa Kleypas and it is not bad compared to other writers. So, it's not a bad book, it's just not her best.

It is easy to see that this was one of her first works. Lisa K. is easily one of the best romance writers around but here you can tell she really hadn't found her voice yet. The character of Heath I thought was cruel and distrustful of the woman he supposedly loved. Lucinda wasn't any better really. It was hard to really believe that these two loved each other and wanted to live a life together...and it got confusing w/ the whole Rayne/Raine deal. I was actually more interested in the life of Damon Redmond and would love to see a big about him now that this book has been reissued. If you want to read some of her best work (and there is a lot of it) then pick up "Suddenly You". It is truly one of the sweetest and most romantic books in this genre. Lisa Kleypas is an amazing writer and we are lucky to have her.

I love Lisa's books but this one was not typical. It was full of conflict, anger, bitterness and mistrust. I'm glad to know it was written a long time ago, I almost didn't finish it. I was dreading that her next book would be more of this.

This book gave me the chills with its haunting reflection of a fledgling marriage. All newlyweeds should be required to read it. It had the feel of youth, hopes dashed, jealousy, and marriage. I wanted to jump in a frozen lake to see if my heath would show up. Loved it.....

Hero is passionate and determined to win over the very stubborn Heroine. Loved every page! Especially loved the American setting that wasn't a Western!

I'm usually a big fan of this author but this was simply disappointing. It's an older book and its age shows. I found both of the main characters to be shallow and unlikable. I kept wishing that there was another relationship in the story that I could connect with.
