-- A USA TODAY Bestseller --

Fiercely independent single mom Quinn Christiansen is used to flying solo. She's been raising her young son and figuring out how to pay his pediatric hospital bills on her own for years now. And truth is, Quinn loves the notorious reputation she's already gained in town of having a heart too hard for any man to break. Because it is. Two carats too hard, to be exact. Courtesy of the two-carat heirloom she'd had to barter to cover her ex's debts when he took off after she got pregnant. The day she'd promised herself never again.

So color her pissed when the universe goes and decides to make the one man in Cactus Creek not afraid of her natural ball-busting charm another gambling musician. A ridiculously handsome, wickedly gruff and gritty, pushy one at that.

Rylan Grey isn't used to getting a woman so worked up...well, not in a bad way, at least. But somehow, his mere existence seems to annoy the guarded and gorgeous Quinn to no end. Surprising, really. A dirt-and-jeans landscaper by day with a regular gig to perform for a packed house by night, Rylan considers himself a decent guy. Sure, he's made some gambles to get to where he's at, but they were all of the life variety, with risks as important as the rewards, fate betting as the house, and not a single dollar in play.

While Rylan never wagers anything he's not willing to lose--namely his heart--he's more than ready to ante up once he sees past Quinn's icy defenses. Quick as a firecracker, loyal to a fault, and sweet when no one's looking, she could be his riskiest gamble yet.

Rylan was working for Dani when Quinn walked in with Luke. Rylan could not stop looking at Quinn. At first she did not smile and after a while he was able toget that smile. Little did he know what caused her to be that way. Quinn was in love with Rylan and tried to break it off when Cooper needed surgery. Rylan refused to except that. Watching them fall in love and deal with human issues makes a wonderful story love this series

I was given this ARC copy in exchange for an honest review. This is book 2 in the Cactus Creek Series. In the 1st book we are introduced to Quinn Christiansen, who is business partners with Luke in his Chocolate Shop and Rylan Grey, who is the leader of the band that plays in Dani's Brewpub. I'd consider playing in a band is a 'hobby' for Rylan owns his own successful landscaping business. Quinn is single mom to her son, Cooper. He's a little dynamo and absolutely adorable who brings his own hilarity to the book. Quinn and Rylan have been attracted to each other since they first saw each other but Quinn has him pegged as a player due to her bad experiences with Cooper's Dad, who also played in a band. Due to small town gossip Rylan 'hears' every point/issue that Quinn has with him. Bravo to him for coming to her and confronting and addresses each issue. He proves he is nothing like her ex. He is just everything you would want in a man~sigh~ This book had me laughing out loud, crying and cheering. The whole town comes to together to help little Cooper and his mom out. It is so heartwarming. I want to live there!

Another Winner! You always get laughs and tears from me, Violet, and I love you for it. Quinn and Rylan were well written to be strong and independent, but soft on the inside and they made a wonderful couple in the end. One of my favorite Violet Duke stories!

Single mom Quinn Christiansen had been burned by love in the past and is in no hurry to make that mistake again. She is too busy taking care of her son Cooper. Enter Rylan Grey who is going to prove that not all men are like Quinn's ex. I loved the story of Quinn and Rylan! I am glad they got their own story after reading about them in Love, Chocolate and Beer. I loved seeing the softer side of Quinn. And the way Cactus Creek came together for Cooper just melted my heart. Rylan. Can I tell you how much I adored Rylan? Here are a couple of reasons why. "Don't. Honey, it's your right to be cautious, to have doubts. Just like it's my job to give you reasons over time not to doubt me, to prove to you and continue to show you that I'm different from what history has taught you to know and expect." "You. You helped me move on from that. You helped me glue back the pieces of my heart without even trying." Swoon worthy right? Go read this book! You won't be disappointed! *I received a review copy in exchange for my honest review*

Another winner! Rylan and Quinn are fantastic. I like that their story began in the first book - Love, Chocolate and Beer - albeit behind the scenes. I like that this story runs along side Luke and Dani's story. This series has a great cast of characters, and you can sit back and enjoy them!

I always love Violet Duke's books and this one was no different. If I could, I would give it a 4 1/2 stars. Violet sets a high standard for herself with amazing books to compare this one to. This one was just lacking a little plot development and was released so much later than the first that I had trouble remembering the characters. However, you should absolutely buy this book right now. There's no way you won't enjoy it. *I was provided an advance copy for my honest review.

Ok I love this series! and am so glad that Violet wrote more for us about Quill & Rylan. Love how Rylan took to Cooper right off the bat and was there no matter what! This town sounds like somewhere I would love to live and hope they would be my friend . Strong loving men and women that have been hurt but learn to heal and move on . If you have not read any Of Violets books do so now! Go to the 1st one and fall in love with this series Like I have

Violet Duke does it again!  Of course that's not a surprise!  Violet has such a heart warming and endearing way of making you fall head over heels in love with each character.  I was drawn in as if I was sitting on the curb in Cactus Creek watching a Fourth of July parade.  Don't forget the popcorn! Love, Diamonds and Spades brings us front row into the lives of single mom Quinn and landscaper/rocker Rylan.  Quinn has always had to fight her demons to protect and provide for her son, Cooper.  The lil guy is sick, and Quinn puts everything on hold for him.  Rylan is a gambler.  He bets with his whole heart.  Can he make a crack in the wall Quinn has put up?  Should he?  Not if she has her way. I was given this book in exchange for a fair review.

I have fallen in love with this series. The characters and the town are easy to fall in love with and want more of. What's not to like about a town that serves chocolate and beer right next to each other. The latest book is Rylan's and Quinn's story. Quinn, a single mom, does not like gamblers and band members. Rylan is just that. But he does not gamble for money, (read the book to find out what is high stakes for this guy), and his band proves they are not just another band that wants to party and have groupies every night of the week. I could go on about how great this book is but I am afraid I would spoil it. You will not be disappointed in this latest book by Violet Duke.

I want to move to Cactus Creek and be friends with these people. This is always the moment when I realize I will buy and devour anything and everything the author writes, when I want to watch theirfamilies grow and their kids grow up and their businesses prosper. I want to eat their food and drink their beer. You keep writing, I'll keep reading.

I was starting to miss all of the characters in Cactus Creek, and am so glad Violet Duke brought us this story of the happy ever after for Quinn and Rylan, and Cooper. :). Cactus Creek is the town you'd love to move to, just to enjoy the chemistry. Can't wait for the rest of the series.

Rylan is every woman's dream man... Sexy, affectionate, passionate and a local rock star... Quinn is a hardworking single Mom who hides her burdens and keeps people at a distance... The relationship that develops between these two is so sweet and loving.... Rylan takes his time and breaks through her barriers and forms a bond with her and her son that is so deep that it has both of them sacrificing their relationship to try and protect the other... With a sick son Quinn does not want to be a burden and Rylan will do anything to protect them at any cost..... The people of Cactus Creek are amazing and are quick to help and band together for a member of their community they are like one big dysfunctional family that I for one would love to be part of... Each book in this series just keeps getting better... Can't wait for more...

Another Diamond from Violet Duke! Violet has done it again. She has a talent for writing REAL people. She makes Quinn and Rylan people you want to know and be friends with.  As always she adds so much humor and just enough angst to keep you on the edge of your seat. You feel the pain Quinn goes through with Cooper's illness and the ups and downs of her relationship with Rylan.  She even threw in a twist that I didn't expect which really got my emotions up.  I definitely recommend Love, Diamonds and Spades.  I can't wait for the next book in the series to come out.

Quinn - a single mom who avoids musicians and gamblers. She is overwhelmed with bills and works so hard. Rylan - a landscaper by day and a musician by night. He is also a gambler - but not for money. ***You'll have to read the book to find out about the wagers!*** This book is a wonderful addition to Cactus Creek, written specifically for the fans. Violet Duke is awesome like that. She has created a place where her characters come alive for everyone to enjoy. This story runs parallel to Love, Chocolate and Beer, so if you haven't read that one yet, you should! All of the Cactus Creek characters are here, with lots of laugh-out-loud moments. The creative energy of the author truly drives the story. It is well developed and the ending comes way too fast! I want to live in Cactus Creek
