I so much enjoyed the characters in this book that I wanted the story to go on for another several chapters- or at the very least an extra long epilogue.
It's such cute inspirational romantic read that it's great for an extra long curl up on the couch; really I could read about Jake and Anne and the rest of the characters for hours on end. Jake really only has eyes for Anne, and sets out to woo her and convince her to stay with him in Groom before she leaves for Dallas with her uncle and sisters, Emily and Kate. The antics of Emily, the writer, and Kate add humor and wit to the story, and Jake's mother Maggie is such a sweetheart, it's no wonder Anne and her sister's take to her right away.
I really found myself liking Jake O'Farrell not only as he falls more and more for Anne, but the way he treated others as well. Anne doesn't think herself beautiful, but not only does she win the heart of the hero, but of the people of Groom as well. She wants to stay in Groom as well, and not only because she's fallen for Jake, but she's found a home with the O'Farrells. Will she have to leave it?
Pick it up for yourself! :)

Absolutely LOVED this book! Stayed up late last night to read it, couldn't put it to down and convince myself to go to bed. HAD to see what happened! LOL The characters are engaging. The story is so interesting, and fun! And it illustrates so perfectly how we often misconstrue the words and actions of others, and why it's so important to apply grace to our relationships. Highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good story with God at the center. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I just finished Love finds you in Groom, Texas. I actually turned the last page over to the back, expecting to see more!! I mean, HOW could the book end? I expected to just continue on and on. Guess I'll just have to buy more books by Janice!! Anne and Jake, the main characters in this book were delightful. You can practically hear each breath they take, feel their emotions. I WANT to know about each character. There wasn't the first character in this book that couldn't be the lead in a totally different book. THAT will make for a lot of books left to read. And WHERE are all the producers of TV?? This book would be the perfect family movie! Would I suggest it to anyone? NO... to EVERYONE. Even guys~ It's that well written. Ok, I've rambled on enough... Two words... BUY IT!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Love Finds You in Groom, Texas is the tale of Jake O'Farrell, the youngest of five brothers and the only single man in a small town called, Groom. When a railroad derailment drops the girl of his dreams and her two lively sisters on his doorstep, he and his family know that life will never be the same.
This book was so much fun to read, not mention had me totally captivated on the car ride home from vacation. I'm not usually a car-reader so that says alot. (Usually I just can't focus).
This book contained so many memorable characters that I could go on forever about them! My favorites were Maggie, Jake's mother, and Jake. I don't usually fall for the heroes, but Jake...Yes, I fell for him. Maybe it's because he was a dead ringer for someone I used to know, or something, but Jake had me charmed.
Maggie his mother was a really sweet lady, very motherly, with a bucket of sass and straight talk on the side. Totally the kind of lady you would want to meet :)
I was happily surprised that this book contained messages that firm believers can actually relate to, like judging before you know the entire situation, and dealing with people who can be difficult. So often Christian books have messages that are hard for everyday believers to relate to, but this is a book for everybody :)
Overall I was utterly charmed by this sweet, and humorous read. And as I said before I could gush forever about the characters...don't even get me started. I will definitely be reading this book again :) The characters just did it for me, I highly recommend this book :)

This story was a great ride through 1914 Texas life. Janice brought forth yet another book that is thoroughly entertaining with great characters that you get quite attached to. I found myself totally absorbed into their lives and what was happening around them. There were surprises that I found to be delightful and not what I would have expected to happen. It's just a fun story that will capture your heart and you won't soon forget. Especially little Emily. She's a pistol. Great read. Highly recommend (anything by Janice Hanna Thompson). Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Another book in the "Love Finds You in.." series is on the bookshelves. Janice Hanna's (Thompson) "Love Finds You in Groom, Texas" hit the bookshelves earlier this month.
Set in the early 1900's, "Love Finds You." has characters you will enjoy getting to know, and probably one or two to whom you can relate. There is the spunky heroine, Annie, who is always determined to make the best of any situation. Jake is our charismatic hero, the kind of guy every momma hopes her daughter will meet. Speaking of mommas, Jake's momma, Maggie, is the "momma" to the residents of Groom, Texas, cook extraordinaire and she takes in strays - humans and pets. And that's how Annie and her sisters end up staying at O'Farrell's Honor, the family's ranch. Annie has two sisters, precocious, aspiring writer, Emily, and quiet, shy Kate.
From the back cover:
"Always the groomsman, never the groom. It's 1914, and although Jake O'Farrell has played the role of groomsman in all four of his older brothers' weddings, he's never been able to find a woman to capture his heart. And with the upcoming wedding of his best friend, Jake will become the last single man in town.
"When a train derailment forces Anne Denning and her two sisters to seek shelter in Groom, Jake's mother invites the girls to stay at her home, and the entire town schemes to bring Jake and Anne together.before the train is repaired. Anne has no idea of the blissful chaos that lies ahead!
In her reader-friendly style of writing, Janice Hanna has once again written a delightful, light romance. Love Finds You in Groom, Tx is the book to take poolside or patio with a tall glass of lemonade for an afternoon of entertaining reading.

What a delightful book! From the beginning to the end, I smiled and laughed. It took me back to a more simple time, simple in some ways, not so simple in the ways of Love. Maggie is my favorite Character, she is a lovely, funny, and caring lady, and Miss Emily has the most wonderful Imagination. What a journey these sister's traveled, with god leading them the way to family and Love. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Do you like a love story with a story-book ending? How about one that, in the beginning, seems very unhappy and has a lot of obstacles in the way of that "happy ending"? Humor? Real life? Janice Hanna (Thompson) has managed to accomplish all this in Love Finds You in Groom Texas. She creates characters we can love and hate and then love all of them, after God works in their hearts. She shows us the beauty of the Texas Panhandle. She creates characters we would all love to have for neighbors. Janice breaks up the reading with different scenes which eventually connect with each other. These little sections make the reading very easy. And several of them usually comprise a chapter. The story keeps the reader so interested, however, it's very difficult to put the book down. The conflict and obstacles all work out in the end. Ahhhh. What a joy to read this book, and to remember that God is still on His throne and has each of us in His hand. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. This was a wonderful read!! I could not put it down and read it in one day. A perfect relaxing way to spend a Sunday. =)
This story is about Jake who's the last single man in Groom Texas. The whole town (including several single women) want to see him hitched!! There's not a lady in town who's caught his eye, until Annie and her two younger sisters are stranded there when the train track is damaged and their train can't go any further till it's fixed.
Annie and her younger sisters have been recently orphaned and are on their way to live with their Uncle in Dallas. As they spend a few days with Jake and his family they come to love the town of Groom and everyone in it....and for Annie, that includes Jake and Jake is more than intrigued by Annie as well!! The whole town is pulling for these two to get together, the only obstacle is Annie's Uncle...will he allow her to stay?
The characters in this story were wonderful. From Annie and her sisters to Jake's family and the girls Uncle, these characters made the story come alive. I'd love to read a story down the road about Annie's little sister Emily.
This story was a very entertaining read that I recommend to anyone who loves great Christian fiction!
