    Enjoyable read

The story felt a bit disjointed, and in some ways the characters disconnected, at times, but overall it was an enjoyable story to read.

    I Also Recommend:

    Fun yet Frustrating

I enjoyed the overall story, but the immaturity of the characters kept getting in my way. Gramps was a lot of fun, and he probably made more sense than any of the other characters put together. I thought that the author didn't just make Lacy immature, but she was so immature that I wasn't sure how she functioned in the real world; and her older sister didn't help by refusing to tell her about her selfish immature nature because she was afraid of hurting her feelings - thus my frustration. When those two characters weren't relating to one another I really enjoyed the story.

This is terrific character driven relationship drama

In Treasure Island, Florida, Amanda Burns owns a bicycle shop that also sells skateboard. Except for her high maintenance sister, Amanda is happy with her life though she would not mind some romance. That is if annual customer Jerry Simpson was the other.

Every year he rents a tandem, but nobody has ever seen him with anyone or for that matter riding the bicycle built for two. This year when he arrives, Amanda decides to learn more about her mysterious favorite customer. She learns he comes to the island to see his parents on their anniversary and rents the tandem for them. This summer she reaches out to him and with the encouragement of his mother they spend time together finding love, but what happens when it is time for him to leave the beach.

This is terrific character driven relationship drama that showcases how a person needs cherished loving companionships. Jerry is close with his grandfather and his parents and them with him. Amanda has close friends, but would like to really get to know Jerry; what she knows already has her heart pumping with admiration and desire. Jerry is a caring soul who would do anything for his loved ones and though attracted to the bicycle store owner, he is shy on acting on his feelings. Fans will agree that love is the treasure to be found on the Floridian island (and elsewhere) as the lead couple, their loved ones and readers will affirm.

    A Book to Treasure!

    Treasure seeking is for tourists.

After years of watching other people dream, Amanda Burns has come to the conclusion that some things just aren't for her. Her life is as stable as it can get with a mother who's just a bit eccentric and a younger sister who is more than a little flakey. Certain that keeping an eye on those around her is the closest she'd going to get to excitement, she's completely at sea when handsome Jerry Simpson walks into her bicycle shop.

The thing is Jerry has come to the same conclusions. His parents need him. There's no time for relationships, and even if there were, what woman would tie herself down to a man who is primary caregiver for a pair of adults that have more energy and mischief than someone half their ages? Much as Amanda intrigues, he's positive that treasure isn't meant for him.

Sometimes you can't see what's right in front of your face. In this fun and enthusiastic tale by Debby Mayne you meet the most delightful cast of scheming characters. You can't help but cheer for them as they push this couple off balance just enough to wind up in each other's arms. But all the meddling in the world won't be enough. It takes God to reveal the ultimate treasure to be found in His divine plan.

Another great offering from the "Love Finds You" series from Summerside Press, you'll find in this book the perfect vacation read. I can't recommend it enough!

    Debby Mayne Always Delivers

I love reading Debby Mayne's books. No matter how she builds her stories ... with laughs, with a little mystery or a lot of romance ... there's always something that touches the heart right at the center. In Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida, Mayne has created believable and identifiable characters in a charming surrounding. Her writing is exquisite, and the payoff at the end makes me a longtime fan of this writer.

    An Enjoyable read

Amanda Burns, the captivating, older heroine in the novel
Love Finds You in Treasure Island Florida, owns and operates a bicycle shop in the tourist town of Treasure Island. She is the mainstay for her family consisting of mother and younger sister. She falls for Jerry Simpson, who comes to visit with his parents. His father has beginning Alzheimer's and his mother has Parkinson's. His mother wants to see her youngest son married and happy. But how can they when they live in Atlanta?
Burned by a previous man, Amanda is careful, maybe too careful, yet can't deny her feelings for Jerry.
Debby Mayne has a feel for her characters, brings them to life as they conquer the problems one faces when taking care of a family member.

I love her style; made me want to travel to Treasure Island, Florida

Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida

I really enjoyed reading this book, and now hope to actually visit Treasure Island one day! ~ The author, Debby Mayne, has created an entertaining story with believable characters. I enjoyed seeing what would happen next in the lives of Amanda and Jerry, and the secondary characters were also captivating. I especially enjoyed reading the conversations and antics of Jerry's parents, an older couple with real-life health issues. ~ I recommend this book, and look forward to reading more books by Debby Mayne. Five Stars!! :)

    Fabulous, Fun, and Fantastic!

Debby Mayne is a gifted and talented writer who has the ability to bring a setting to life. Her characters are people you want to spend time with and stay with you long after you've finished the book. Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida, is such a fun read that I finished it in two sittings and enjoyed every minute of it, laughing and grinning so much that I was certain my face resembled the Joker's.

What can I say? I love this story! Why? Because..

Jerry Simpson is a real sweetheart, and his parents are a riot. However, will his devotion to his parent's keep him from a relationship with Amanda? Will Jerry allow an incident to keep him from Amanda forever? And just who is this Matthew fellow to Amanda? Is she in love with him?

When love strolls into Amanda Burns' bicycle shop in the form of Jerry Simpson, will she watch it stroll right out again even though she's deeply attracted to him? Something holds Amanda back from giving her heart to him, or to any other man. Can she let whatever is holding her back go before it's too late?

Mr. Simpson, Jerry's father, is obsessed with searching for treasure. Will he ever find it? And if so, will it be everything he ever imagined?

Mrs. Simpson, Jerry's mother, goes into the matchmaking business, and her scheming antics are hilarious. She's bound and determined to see two people she loves get hitched. Just how far will she go in accomplishing this task? And what risks are involved?

Lacy, Amanda's sister has her own romance going on. Does her spoiled ways and selfishness destroy any chances of a long-lasting relationship?

Timmy is a troubled child. When he meets a certain person, something happens? What? And is this person a good influence for Timmy or a bad one?

You can find the answers to these questions in, Love Finds You in Treasure Island, Florida. This story is a super fun, relaxing, giggle a minute read.
