Overview

My name is Lily Gilmore, and I was supposed to be getting married today. That was until I found my fiancé having sex with my sister in the church moments before I was supposed to walk down the aisle. I grew up with a father who was a womanizer and cheated on my mother every moment he had the chance. He would even stoop as low as to take me and my sister with him on his trysts when we were younger. Cheating was all I grew up with, and I vowed never to live the life my mother did. After finding my fiancé and my sister together, I moved from Seattle to Santa Monica to start a new life of independence and to focus on my passion for photography, man-free.

My name is Luke Matthews. About a year ago, I lost the love of my life, in a tragic car accident. There are no words that can describe how I’ve felt the past year.  My life and all my dreams had died with her in the accident. I exist, and I play my guitar to try and ease the pain. My love was taken away, and I will never get that back.

What happens when the lives of two people who no longer believe in love are suddenly changed by fate?

OMG., what a Fantastic & Beautiful Story.. I could not put this book down for a second cause it was just that great and
wonderfully written that you just had to knew what happened next., a true page turn that had it all .. will developed characters
and just not the main one's either cause in this story even the secondary and third set of characters were well written
and developed but didn't take away from the main characters but added just the right amount of involvement that is
needed to add to what is a great story.., and I love that it is the  the Two main characters POV so that you get to know what
both of their  feelings at the same time which only increases the beauty of the story.. I think this author is fabulous and
that she nail it and created one hell of a beautiful and heartfelt story and I am so thankful that  she shared this with us fans
and reads and  allowed us to take this journey with Luke & Lily ..I am so looking forward book 2 to be able to continue
this awesome journey and to see what is next.. I recommend this story and any other story written by this author
    A must read for sure :) <3

I purchased Love In Between the day it was released and could not wait to read it, but like everything else in life…it took me until November to read it. I was so excited once I started reading this novel, that I literally could not put it down and read it in two days.
Lily Gilmore is a lost soul that is looking to run as fast as she can from her broken heart. After walking in on her fiancé’ and her sister having sex on their wedding day, just moments before they walk down the aisle, Lily has been on the run with no plans on returning. After nearly a year and finally ending up in Santa Monica to start over, she meets Luke.
Luke has lost the love of this life in a tragic accident and it miserable and does not want to be around anyone. When Luke meets Lily he is nothing but completely rude towards her, which makes Lily almost immediately hate him. After a few days, they both seem to lighten up and eventually a friendship happens, leading two broken hearts to each other.
Lily and Luke find love in one another, after believing that they could never love again. This was a beautiful love story and I recommend anyone looking for a sexy, heart wrenching love story to read Love In Between!

Thanks for the warning about this not being a complete book. Will not buy. Hope reviewers will continue to give this info. If enough people stop buying their books maybe they will wise up.

    No thanks

First, I absolutely hate books that include dead wives or dead girlfriends. It completely ruins the romance when the hero can't stop grieving and constantly compares her with the heroine. Second, I can't stand when authors can't write a complete book. Making fans wait for months for a conclusion is just ridiculous. No thanks.

    Great Read!

I like Sandi Lynn novels, and was taken in by this series and hated to see it end, but am anxiously waiting for second book. A great read that is worth the wait for next in series.

    more from this reviewer

Issues with presentation:  Love in Between is the first storylin

Issues with presentation:  Love in Between is the first storyline in Sandi Lynn's new Love series. The premise focuses on Lily and Luke-two twenty-something adults who have suffered heartbreak and loss. Both believe they are broken and unable to mend, but none more so than Luke who lost the only woman he has ever loved. What ensues is the building of a relationship between two strangers who begin the slow process of healing and finding themselves once again.
This is also a story that introduces several secondary characters-friends and family-and each plays an intricate role in Luke and Lily's life. From the sister and mother who betrayed Lily to the friends who find themselves in relationships of their own. And in the end, you know that there is more to the story than meets the eye-for I believe Luke and Lily may have briefly met -one year before.
But, I did have several issues with this novel-more so on the writing style-than the premise and plot.
There is a difference between developing a story and being told. I felt that the author was hand-holding the reader throughout the entire novel-it read like a manuscript for a movie more than a story that wanted to be told. There were so many unnecessary details and directions-e.g. we knew who was speaking yet we were told at the beginning or end of each sentence.
There is also the issue of redundancy. The author used the words babe and baby so many times, I cringed. At one point I suspected the couple in question could no longer remember each other's names. Although it was used as a form of endearment, the number of times it was used was overwhelming.
Also, whenever Lily used 'colorful' language, she was always told to 'watch her mouth' or 'watch her language' as though she was a five year old child. Again, the use of this particular phrase was used too many times in my opinion. I do not have an issue with swearing in storyline, but the character did not use graphic or sexually graphic language, so I had to question the constant and obvious need to chastise a grown woman. Was it a form of control? I don't think so but I did feel it was unnecessary to the storyline.
It is truly difficult to rate this novel because of the overwhelming issues in the writing style. I had noted the number of 5 stars reviews and I won't deny anyone the right to their opinion. But sometimes, a review is more than just about whether the storyline is one you enjoyed-it is about the quality, the developing of the story and the author's presentation. In this, I was disappointed. Hopefully, in the next instalment, Sandi Lynn understands that as readers, we are capable of understanding the unwritten plot details as well as those printed on the page.

I enjoyed this book very much!  When I first started it I didn't think that I would love Luke as much or if not more than I loved Connor Black from Sandi Lynn's Forever series but I do!  With out revealing anything from the book I will say that when we and Lily first meet Luke he is rude, short and not a very friendly person.  As a matter of fact I found myself hoping that she and Sam would get together.  I am now glad they didn't.  There are some surprises in this book for which I am very glad that there is a second book coming out in 2014.  Another great book by Sandi Lynn and she has made me a fan of her work for as long as she writes!  If you haven't read Forever Black and Forever  You , they are  a series so worth buying and reading.

    Terrible

I thought this book was terrible. The writing style is very inmature. The story line is corny and unbelievable. Nothing happens in real life as fast as it did in this book. Do not waste your money or time.

    OH FREAKIN WOW!

I absolutely LOVED this book. It was totally unexpected. The storyline is perfect it drew me in from the very begining. The chemistry between Luke and Lily is off the charts HOT. The secondary characters are also such an intricate part of making this story so perfect. At times I laughed and at times I cried so hard my heart ached. I enjoyed every part of this book. I can't wait for the sequel. Charley is the cutest and sweetest little girl ever. She had me cracking up. At times she even talks like she older than nine years old. I highly recommend this book to everyone. The friendships are to be envied.

    Wonderful

Let me start by saying I saw a bad review and I can't believe it! This book was FANTASTIC! It brought two damaged souls together and let them grow together and repair each others heart and soul. The ups and downs of their encounter to their relationship beginning and growing was wonderful. I totally recommend this book and all other writings of Sandi Lynn. I cannot wait for the 2nd book to come out.
