Overview

Love is Fear is the highly anticipated sequel to the Number One Fantasy Bestseller, Love is Darkness.

After a lot of swearing and only a little nookie, Valerie Dearborn has decided to make a change. No more lusting after Lucas, the hot, but emotionless, vampire king who can’t commit. Instead she’s going to make it work with Jack. After all, not only is he breathing, but he’s the love of her life….Isn’t he?

Valerie is an Empath, with supernatural abilities that seem to do nothing more than give her the hots for Lucas. Once upon a time, Empath’s had a purpose. They were ambassadors to the Others—Fey, Witches, Werewolves and Vampires. They could settle the emotions of a Werewolf and make Vampires feel again.

But that was long ago.

Lucas isn’t about to let Valerie go. He needs her to help him find the Fey, last seen in the Colony of Roanoke, South Carolina, circa 1587. He still believes they are the key to restoring balance to the world and the only way to keep vampires under control. They won’t trust him, but they will trust Val.
Between Jack, Lucas and Rachel, Val knows life won’t be dull. Nor will it be the normal, 2.5 kids kind of life she’s always wanted.

As their enemies close in, Val must ask herself what life is really about–trust, duty or mind-blowing orgasms? And even if she finds the answer, she may not live long enough to enjoy it.

Please note—this novel is not YA and has lots of sass, swearing and sex. Not necessarily in that order.

    Enjoyed this series!

I can't wait to read the next book! This was a fun read and I love the dialogue (going on in Val's head) while she talks! LOL!

Hanson has a unique way of writing and keeping the reader captivated!

Thank you for writing another good book!

    Love triangles are excellent!

The love triangle between Lucas, Val, and Jack made me read this book from cover to cover. Only, nothing turns out the way that, maybe, it should and the plot twist at the end makes me think that the love triangle might become a square. It's a cliff hanger ending.......literally and figuritively.

I can't wait for the next book!

wow, great read hard to put down!

great series, highly recommend! What is so great is that you really have no idea what is going to happen until it happens. there are many love interests/ possibilities in this book yet as a reader you have no idea to choose to root for. yet get to hear the thoughts of all those involved yet there are so many secrets still to be discovered. Can't wait until the next book!

    Good read.

I really like this book because it's a new take on the vampire genre. Initially, I thought it may be a young adult book after loking at the cover. Definitely not with all of the steamy love scenes. My only negative review is towards the editing. There seems to be a great deal of typing errors and words running into each other. Still a great book though.

I enjoyed the storyline very much, lots of twists and turns. I love the way you get the "hear" everyone's thoughts. I just wish there was one character that would tell Valerie the whole truth, not just their version, or a small part of if, but everything start to finish.

    Good but expected

I loved the first book in this series, the second book wasnt to bad, just predictable! Again i find myself annoyed with val, she chooses wrongly each and every time. I feel she is just extremely naive and stupid! One would think shes a teenager.Shes dating a vampire, lucas,KING of the vampires and punishes him for his past! Any fool can see he cares for her and does what he does for a REASON. Sorry had to rant but val seriously angers me, regardless i still liked the book and will continue to read this series.

    Great follow up

I have really enjoyed this series. My only complaint is the main character really started to grate my nerves but I suppose it was an angle to develop other characters.
