Overview

Millions of women in the United States battle with after-effects of suffering so great they’ve developed post-traumatic stress disorder—the same suffering experienced by soldiers who’ve gone through war. Sexual and physical abuse, catastrophic accidents, abandonment, natural disasters, invasive medical procedures, and many other painful and overwhelming events can trigger symptoms they are little equipped to deal with and hard-pressed to recognize. Love Letters from the Edge provides a voice for those struggling to express this pain and reveals intimate encouragement for those in desperate need to hear God’s words of love and deliverance. This heartfelt devotional focuses on the profound laments in the book of Psalms. Each meditation begins with a letter from someone in the throes of despair and then offers a tender response to their pain from God’s perspective.Fresh, honest, and intimate, Love Letters from the Edge will reach readers who never expected to hear good news from where they are and point them toward the hope and healing of Christ.

I had the privilege of reading Love Letters from the Edge by She

I had the privilege of reading Love Letters from the Edge by Shelly Beach and Wanda Sanchez. Where do I begin? What a beautiful book. I don’t believe I have suffered PTSD symptoms per se in my life, but I have many friends who continually suffer on a daily basis. I see their strugglers, I hear their pain, and let’s face it, no one can’t live on this earth without suffering pain to some degree.

This book spoke right to my woman’s heart…I’m still digesting the soft, perfectly spoken words that seemed to be written just for me. This is a book that I want to share with everyone, but I don’t want to give them my copy (selfishly) because I want to reread it over and over again. I guess I will be getting many copies and giving them as gifts throughout the year instead.

This book would work great as a Bible study with women who have all suffered in one form or another, would work great to read by yourself and take your time to savor each chapter, or would work well reading it with one or two close friends.

I received this book for free from BookClubNetwork in exchange for my honest review. .
