Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
Published in time for Valentine's Day, this anthology of contemporary novellas makes use of various holiday festivities and brings readers three appropriately heartwarming romances. Former lovers rediscover and finally accept each other in Rochelle Alers's upscale, trendy "Hearts of Gold"; an outwardly conservative romance editor and a free-lance copy editor find romance both on the Internet and in real life in Donna Hill's light and often funny "Masquerade"; and a police widow and her husband's former partner put the deceptive past behind them and claim a love that was there all the time in Janice Sims's slightly more serious "To Love Again." As expected, the stories vary in quality and style but should appeal to most readers. All three authors have written earlier romances for the Arabesque line (Hill and Alers, whose new book is reviewed above, are veterans); Hill lives in Brooklyn and Sims in Mascotte, Florida.

    An Outstanding Collaboration

I loved this book, read it cover to cover, from Hearts of Gold, to Masquerade, to To Love Again. I thought all three stories were great. I especially enjoyed To Love Again. When Alana found out about Karen and her son Michael, and Alana gave Karen a huge check from Michael's death benefit, I thought that it was too much to believe, and also the thought that there was no animosity between the two women. It was also good to know that this was also a good way for Alana to move on with her life and could say 'goodbye to Michael' without looking back, and so good that Alana had Nic, with which she had someone to love her and give her a future she might not have had otherwise. I'm a sucker for good romance/love stories and happy endings. This great collaboration was so good, I look forward to reading more collaborations/anthologies. Read this book from cover to cover.

    Delectable Trio of Love Stories

I don't usually write reviews, but I thought the only other review on this title was remiss in not mentioning the contributions of Rochelle Alers and Janice Sims to the success of this anthology. Donna Hill's story is excellent! It's fresh and modern and very funny. Rochelle Alers, as many of her readers already know, has an eye for details and writes with a sensual pen. Janice Sims is known for her emotional intensity and her ability to let you get inside the head of her characters. Alers, Hill and Sims are an unbeatable combination. This anthology is possibly the best I've ever read. I didn't want those logging on thinking they'd be buying an anthology with only ONE good story in it. No, all THREE stories are truly wonderful!!!
