Meet the Author

Detroit native, Sylvia Hubbard, a single mother of three, has worked tirelessly to promote and encourage emerging writers in Michigan. She independently published her first romance novel in 2000 and has continued to write in that genre, sometimes venturing into other sub-genres. Always urban and contemporary styled, her writing is enjoyed all over the world. She has published 8 paperbacks and over 30 e-books.

The same year she published, Ms Hubbard also created Motown Writers Network to fill the lack of education and networking for Michigan authors online and offline. By 2004, she was frustrated that all the literary conferences had moved too far away from the city and co-created The Essence of Motown Literary Jam Conference held only in the City of Detroit annually.

In addition to romance writing, Hubbard has been featured at various conferences and workshops all over the United States and Canada, where she has taught authors how to sell their books on the Internet. She also published Internet Marketing for Writers & Businesses as a resource for those unable to attend her workshops. In the upcoming year, she will be featured in several anthologies and plans to publish additional e-books.

When Ethan learns that his wife is cheating on him, he sets out to exact revenge. Her daughter, Nicole, has never been an active part of her life due to scandalous actions far earlier in life, but Ethan chooses Nicole as the focal point of his revenge. In a long, character revealing tale of family deception and trauma, Ethan and the other characters learns that even the BEST laid plans can be disrupted.   This is an engaging story and the characters leave you cheering for the "good guys" while hoping things fall apart for the antagonist. There were some extraneous plotlines that could have been excluded, but they weren't so distracting that the storyline was lost.

Some people never know how to really love. Thats what this was about. Love will find you when you least expect it. Sometimes you just need to open your eyes to see it. I really enjoyed the book. Such a wonderful love and heartache story.

It was okay. I didn't like some of the advice Cleo gave to Nicole regarding her virginity, right after she was molested. It had its exciting moments. An okay read.

Book was OK for what it was. I didn't like how everything was tied up into the usual boring bow at the end (and they lived happily...blah blah). The only characters that seemed real to me were Nanna and Cleo. Both were experiencing extreme hardships and showed courage and real character in the face of real struggle. I'd read this author again for those little nuggets of true character development I saw in this book... P.s... I can read so the lack of editing didn't take away from the story for me ( I understood what was inferred by the author so the errors were not a deterrant)

Just by reading this im sure that my IQ droped several points. What could've been a decent story turned out to be poorly contrived and rife with the worse grammar in the history of language. I know it was free but would it have hurt to have someone give it the old once over.

Dont get me wrong, the book is really good. But i found that it was poorly written and found myself on a number of ocassions distured by the contents but it did make the story more inticing to read. Something like the lovely bones. Some creep killed the main character so your like "Damn o_o" in this case a lot of drama happening with a husband who wants nothing but revenge. But as it goes on it still has your attention even though all hope seems gone. Like she cant come back to life (still talking about The Lovely Bones) so whats the point but your pleased with the ending. Honestly i probubly wouldnt have read this with as much intrest if i hadnt read this had a diffrent race in it. Usually when i read books along the lines of this kind of unorthodox love (you how it is when love happens when its not planned. Love it ^_^) i would have imagined whites not blacks. So it caught my intrest even more given im black. Of course i was a little hurt that the story pertained to blacks being the incesed, whore-ish, and crazed people. Personally i thought it was sterotypical but it doesnt take away from my likeing of the book. This is my favorite genre. O.o Minus all the rape and whore-ish things but i LOVE unexpected love stories happening at unexpected times but then again what girl doesnt wish for it to happen to them *Sigh. But then again what do i know, im only 16 so dont mind me with my big words. Im only trying to sound smart v.v -Jenna <33333
