Years of hearing people telling me I lived an exciting life prompted me to write Love, Loyalty & Dangerous Games. This novel is a picturesque view of my own life lived through a young teenage hustler named Spanky, who ran the streets of New York City during the early 1990's. He, like I was, is a smooth cat that loves women and having fun. Additionally, his charm and charismatic ways earned him the respect and love of everyone around him. But, also, like myself, after being involved in an accident that left him paralyzed, he had plenty of time to reflect on his past behavior. His struggle depicts my own struggle to recover both physically and mentally with the assistance of people who loved him. Spanky later discovered that his accident was not an accident at all. Instead, it was the price he paid for being involved in one of the most dangerous games a young man could play.

Editorial Reviews

Amazon.com - Raymond Francis
Love, Loyalty and Dangerous Games is flat out one of the best books I have ever read. I'm a hard person to impress but Kawand Crawford has blown me away. The concept of writing a book that starts with him immobile in a hospital bed and describing his surroundings is genius enough, but coupled with the technique of using flashbacks to tell the story is pure brilliance. So the way the book is set up is great, but the talent doesn't stop there. The storyline in this book is so complex…

Kawand S Crawford
Biography

Kawand S. Crawford was born August 8, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York. He was raised in Marlboro projects, just a few blocks away from Coney Island. While attending Lafayette High School he played many sports including varsity football.
He later traded a life of sports and education for the fast life of the streets. After years of committing crimes and selling drugs during the 1980's, the streets labeled him one of Brooklyn's biggest drug dealers. On June 20th 1990, Kawand's life was forever changed when he was seriously injured in an accident, which left him paralyzed from the chest down.
After losing several close friends and family members to street violence and prison Kawand made the decision to give up the life of fast money and crime.
In 1996, Don Kawand enrolled in Medgar Evers College, a City University of New York. While attending college, Kawand received numerous awards for academic excellence from various campus organizations. He was recognized by the University Student Senate, and received their Profile of Courage Award for outstanding achievements and being an inspiration to individuals with disabilities.
In 1999, Kawand graduated with his Associates Degree in Business Administration's. His love for education and business made him continue his studies at Medgar Evers College.
In 2002, Kawand finally graduated with his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Shortly after graduation he moved to Georgia. After reading "The Coldest Winter Ever" he was inspired to write and publish his own work. With the help of Dragon Dictate, a voice recognition program
he was able to complete his first novel by the spring of 2003.
In 2003, Kawand met Minister Candy S. Williams (R. I. P), founder of AA Life pUBLICATION. After being blown away by his manuscript she assisted with the publishing and release of "Love, Loyalty & Dangerous Games" in 2004.
After popular demand and inspiring reviews, Kawand wrote and released "Dangerous Games No Love No Loyalty" a sequel to his first novel.
Kawand S. Crawford has grown past his teenage life of crimes and has given his life to God. He hopes through his writings that he can inspire and encourage troubled teenagers not to follow the path he once took.

    Surprisingly Wonderful Book!

I bought this book from Kawand at the flea market. I didn't expect it to be too good but was I in for a surprise! I couldn't put the book down once I got started. The characters are all so very interesting that I couldn't wait to find out what they were going to get into next. The ending had a surprise twist that I NEVER in a million years would have guessed. Regardless of whether you are a man or woman, you will LOVE this book and be able to relate to all the characters. It is a must read. I CAN'T WAIT TO GET THE SEQUEL.
