Meet the Author

Diane Alberts has always been a dreamer with a vivid imagination, but it wasn’t until 2011 that she put her pen where her brain was, and became a published author.  Since receiving her first contract offer, she has yet to stop writing. Though she lives in the mountains, she really wishes she was surrounded by a hot, sunny beach with crystal clear water. She lives in Northeast Pennsylvania with her four kids, a husband, a cat, and a Senegal parrot. In the rare moments when she’s not writing, she can usually be found hunched over one knitting project or another.

She is a multi-published, bestselling author with Entangled Publishing, Swoon Romance, and Decadent Publishing. She has, as of this date, four books with Entangled Publishing, one book with Swoon Romance, and five older books with Decadent Publishing. Her February release with Entangled Publishing, ON ONE CONDITION, hit #18 on the Barnes and Noble Bestseller List, and TRY ME, hit #76 on Amazon. Her Swoon Romance novella, CAPTIVATED BY YOU, hit #31 on the Barnes and Noble bestseller list. Diane is represented by Louise Fury from the L. Perkins Agency.

I was sent an e-galley of this book for review by the publisher and this review also appears on my blog.No remuneration was exchanged and all opinions granted herein are my own except as noted.

I wonder about the silliest things. Why doesn't this character have a family? If he was so busy providing for his sister and marrying his slutty ex-wife how did he get the creds for his marketing job, which seems almost like a mergers and acquisition position. Sometimes the details get edited out of short form erotic fiction. I am told by writers and editors that most readers don't notice this kind of thing but I do.

This is a sort of sweet story with a few steamy scenes. It's from the Ever After Imprint, so you would be surprised if the ending wasn't of the happily ever after variety, right? Without revealing too much, let me say this is a situation many women find themselves in. A good man is hard to find, right? There's a lot of drama between them and the end is a doozie. Neither member of the couple is very good at interpersonal communication; since they are both in industries where communication is vital that is a little odd.

The romance is justified and the intimate scenes pretty much are as well. There are a few twists, but a lot of it is predictable. I don't see Brianna's day-to-day persona; pretty high powered business woman aligning with how she is at home. He's okay, his character feels dated to me. There isn't anything spectacularly different in the love scenes - it's pretty vanilla, even when it is incredibly passionate.

The story was nice - not mind blowing or tremendously engaging. It'd be a good beach read if you enjoy tamer erotica with a lot of drama out of the bedroom.

Brianna is a Executive Business Manager of the Golden Hand Casin

Brianna is a Executive Business Manager of the Golden Hand Casino. She is focused and driven, and lets nothing stand in her way. Her personal life has been very much put on hold due to a tragedy, she has no intention of meeting a new man. Widowed a few years ago leaves her the single parent to 3 kids, and a few insecurities of her own, that doesn't leave her with the time or desire to find someone.

Thomas is a Marketing Executive from Mototek, who has been sent by his company to secure a contract with the Golden Hand Casino. He hates Vegas and would love for the deal to go through so he can get the heck out of there a quickly as possible. His past relationship with his ex-wife leaves him bitter and leery of relationships.

When Thomas and Brianna first meet, its by pure accident on the side walk as the are both headed to a meeting. They exchange some quick repertoire after Thomas tries to catch Brianna from falling on the street and they go their separate ways. Once in the restaurant Thomas realizes that Brianna is the Business Manager from the casino that he was meeting. What luck! Thomas feels an undeniable attraction to this woman and decides to pursue it, at least while he was here in Vegas. Brianna finally agrees to meet him for dinner later that day and the evening ends before it really starts with a sexy one night stand, at least that's how Brianna saw it. Thomas couldn't leave it at that, so he pursue her at her work leaving her with a hot scene to remember him by on her desk. At this point Thomas thinks he becomes aware of one of Brianna's shocking secrets but he really has no idea what he is getting him self into. After discovering what an ass Thomas is, he is determined to make Brianna know that he cares about her.

This was a backwards relationship from the start, getting down and dirty first and asking questions later. Which makes it so appealing. I love that because it makes the story a little more believable. In reality it isn't that often that people fall in love at first sight and live happily ever after, but one night stands happen all the time (or so I hear). Thomas and Brianna's relationship is one that they both had to work on, it didn't come easy and I love this story for that.

Intense! That¿s all I have to say.  The intensity of this book i

Intense! That’s all I have to say.  The intensity of this book is off the wall.  You can feel the intensity and the chemistry between Thomas and Brianna from across the room; it’ll send shivers down your spine.  Yes, this book will have your emotions thrown for a loop, and you will never know what hit you.  It’s a quick read you won’t want to put down.

Thomas first met Brianna outside on the busy street on Las Vegas while on his way to a business meeting.  She looked preoccupied so he thought he would be nice and save her from crashing into a newspaper stand.  She had such a sharp, businesslike exterior, but yet very feisty and sassy.  There was something about her he found her very attractive and sexy; something that ignited deep down inside of him; something he was lacking for so many years.  Then he watched her walk away never to see her again.

Thomas was shocked when he realized his business meeting was with Brianna, whom he just ran into on his way to the restaurant.  While trying to maintain his composure to snag the biggest contract, he couldn’t help wonder about Brianna.  There was something about her, something that made him interested, what was her story?  She was different.  He needed to keep this strictly business but he just couldn’t help but wonder, he just wanted more, just one more date to see where this would go.  This wasn’t like him. The last time he wanted more he got burned, bad.

Brianna definitely kept it strictly business as much as she could.  But Thomas was very persistent.  He was really good at his job and he knew exactly what he was talking about, there was no doubt about that.  He had an answer for everything. Thomas keeps insisting on taking Brianna out on a date to see if they have anything going on for them, but Brianna cannot take anything more than a business relationship.

Brianna pretty much had no choice to a “second meeting” when Thomas wants a tour of her hotel.  They hop into the cab and head to Thomas’ hotel for dinner when one thing leads to another.  It is at that moment, their passion for one another comes alive, that pent up connection is released and their feelings are poured out through that one long kiss.  The fire burns in them that they skipped dinner and head right into Thomas’ suite where they have fiery HOT sex.  They want each other soo badly; they don’t even make it to the bedroom!  Even I felt the intensity from the kiss to the sex part!  Once Brianna realizes what she has done, she runs away, fast without looking back.

What Brianna had done is not like her at all; it isn’t who she is.  She doesn’t know what came over her because she has never ever done or felt the need to do that ever before.  She is a responsible person and has three children to care for, who need her at home.  No one has been able to make her feel this way in a very long time, no one since Michael.  Not until now, not until Thomas.  There was something about Thomas that made her feel alive again, made her feel,  helped fill a void that felt missing since the day Michael died.

What did Thomas do to make her run?  He couldn’t wrap his head around it.  He had such a messed up past that he regretted every day of his life, but who didn’t have a messed up past?  You learn from it and you don’t make the same mistakes again. He was married and hated his ex-wife for what she did to him.  She played him for a fool, put false thoughts into his head, and turned him against the people he loved. And till this day, he hated himself for it; regretted himself for doing it.  He lived a miserable life because of it.  After all that she put him through, he deserved happiness in his life. He deserved someone to love him unconditionally.

There is just something about Brianna that Thomas cannot stay away.  He must get to know her more, so he goes to talk to her at her office.  They don’t start off by talking, but by having HOT desk sex. They the talking starts and they agree to start things off slowly.  After revealing the truth, Thomas does not run but accepts the fact that she is a widow with three children and accepts that fact and would love to get to know her more.  He is only in town for two more weeks and would like to see where things take them.  He is not making any promises but they will cross that bridge when they get there.  There is more to Thomas than it seems.  He a very caring person and will put the kids and Brianna’s safety and happiness before his very own.

Brianna grew up with a lot of insecurities and they have slowly come back to haunt her. At the start of her relationship with Thomas, she thought he was using her to get her to sign the contract. Now she is terrified he will leave at the end of his two weeks and move back to California; leaving her and the kids alone. He has slowly become a fixture in their lives that it will not only crush her heart, but also her children. She is so used to rejection and people leaving her, she honestly feels that Thomas will do that very soon. It seems that they may have moved a little too fast and she terrified of what will happen.

Will Thomas pick up and leave Las Vegas for good leaving her and he kids? Will Thomas find happiness in Brianna and her family? Will Brianna be able to completely love Thomas? Will Thomas be able to let go of his past hurt and be happy again? Will Brianna finally stop running?

My heart broke for Brianna many, many times while reading this book.  She was at a tough place. She felt like she needed to move on for herself, but she felt like she couldn’t.  She was really torn and I could feel her emotions fighting herself on it.  She couldn’t do it to Michael and she couldn’t do it to her kids. But she needed it for herself.  She hated herself when she and Thomas first had passionate sex.  I hated that she felt that way.  She felt soo conflicted at the beginning of her feelings with Thomas, she just didn’t know what to do about them. But when she realized her feelings for Thomas were much deeper than a fling, she didn’t feel as guilty. She finally started to realize she deserved happiness too.  Thomas knew what he wanted from the beginning and he didn't stop till he got it.  Great job Diane! Looking forward to your next story in the series!

I received an ARC for my honest review.

There will be SPOILERS, due to explanations, but they are not HUGE ones.

The premise: Thomas is in Vegas for two weeks (two weeks, did you get that?) to seal a deal with the hotel where Brianna is the manager.

Their attraction is fairly instantaneous, and though they get off to a rocky start they are both pretty eager to give in to temptation. There are a couple of really hot scenes, and then the part that I take issue with. I had times when I had to stop reading, and actually read other books before going back to finish. I honestly forced myself to finish just to see if the plot could be saved.

If their situation had been spaced out over two (or even six) months instead of two weeks, I could have believed things a lot more easily. As it was, while the story progressed smoothly, their relationship felt extremely rushed.

    *****SPOILERS*****
    *
    *
Brianna is a widow with three kids. While this is not a huge spoiler, I figured I'd put it under here anyway because her kids were my main cause of irritation. I know kids. I think most people who have kids, or who have been in the situation of introducing a new boyfriend to their kids will be thrown out of the story by their reaction. While kids can be super friendly and latch on to people right away, they do not decide on a first introduction to treat strange men as the father they lost. The teenager's reaction is the most appropriate, then even he gives in and accepts Thomas as a part of their family within two weeks.

The other part of this is that Brianna, without any word from Thomas on whether or not he's staying in Vegas, takes him home to meet them. She supervises when he reads a bedtime story to her youngest, because he's a strange man in her daughter's room. Good for her. Then he tells her to trust him to handle her oldest's bad attitude - and she does. Because a man she met a week ago TOLD HER TO. No, I'm sorry, you don't get between me and my kids and tell me how the situation needs to be handled when you haven't even committed to staying past two weeks. Oh, and then there's that part where she agrees to let his sister and her husband babysit overnight (so they can have sex in his hotel room) even though she's never met them.

Brianna is professional, capable, and smart. Insane chemistry aside, she recognizes the need to put her family first. I totally respected this, and was really disappointed when she still couldn't bring herself to just ASK if he planned on sticking around.

4.5 stars rounded up because of that HOT office sex scene!

Thomas is not looking for a relationship. In fact, he loves them and leaves them ever since he was betrayed by his wife years ago. So when he finds himself admiring the lovely lady who gives as good as she gets before a business meeting, he thinks nothing of it. That is until he finds that Brianna, the woman he was instantly attracted to, is the business associate he will be dealing with to land the account he needs to acquire the promotion he wants at work.

Thrown for a loop, fighting his attraction and working on the job he needs to complete, Thomas decides to have his cake and eat it too. The problem comes when Brianna fights him every step of the way. Never one to back down from a challenge, Thomas sets his sights on having an affair with Brianna for however long he is in town. The only problem -- Brianna comes to mean more to him than he ever expected to. All of a sudden he finds himself entertaining notions of marriage and family. Now if only he could convince Brianna to take a chance on him and love him.

Holy cow, I was NOT expecting this!!! Emotions, sexual tension, sizzling-hot chemistry all wrapped up in an intense story of second chances and letting go, Love Me took me by surprise. After reading Try Me , where Thomas appears and makes amends with Jeremy after a huge misunderstanding that tore apart their friendship, I was curious to read Thomas' story and see him find his happily-ever-after. However, I was not expecting him to be such a complex character.

I loved him! His intensity, his determination and his sexiness. Once he made up his mind he was not to be deterred, even when at times he struggled to come to grips with his new-found feelings of starting a family and remarrying. Especially since his view of marriage had forever been altered by his previous experience. Having been weary of commitment for years, he finally learns to let go so that he could pursue Brianna.

I enjoyed the way Brianna and Thomas were brought together and how they each put their emotions out there on the page for me to truly connect with them and cheer them on to come together. I liked Brianna right away. She was strong and independent and not easily persuaded by a handsome face. She was all proper and business-like but when she let go and opened up to Thomas their connection could not be denied. It was explosive! Damn, that scene in her office? Phew!!! HOT!

Diana Albert has fast become an author I will surely keep my eye out for. All the titles I have read of hers have been absolutely amazing and I can't wait to read more.

I received this title from the publisher through NetGalley in exchange of my honest opinion.

Love me follows the story of Thomas Jones who is in the marketin

Love me follows the story of Thomas Jones who is in the marketing field, and he is taken once again to Las Vegas to win his marketing company another large account. What he is not prepared for when he gets there is Brianna, they literally run in to each other outside a restaurant, and let's just say they don't get started on the right foot.

Thomas is immediately attracted to Brianna, however, it is not reciprocated in the least, and that just makes him want to win her over even more. One of her hesitations is that she is in charge of the casino that he needs to get a contract signed on for the next big job. There is more reasons than that in which Brianna does not want to get involved with him, but we are not aware of these secrets until later on in the book, and they could throw a big hitch in Thomas's plans if he is not careful.

I really enjoyed Thomas and Brianna's story, and watching it unfold, and seeing how Thomas reacts to Brianna's home life and how that would effect any kind of relationship he hopes to have with her. This is the second book in a series, however, it is not necessary to read the first book, they can be read like stand alone novels. In saying that, I have not read book 1, but I will be asap as I really enjoyed Diane's writing, and the two main characters from book 1 make an appearance in this book, and they seem very interesting. Overall this book gets a 4/5 from me, and I would suggest it for anyone looking for a romance book with some steam in it!

The two characters have a very short time to figure out if it will work.  Add to it that she has kids!  Quirky and fun story line, fast paced and doesn't disappoint with a romantic happy ending. I have to sheepishly admit I loved how the author added the element that Thomas kept getting "beat up" by accident. All in the name of love!

For the first two thirds or so of this book, I had trouble fully engaging with characters Thomas and Brianna. Their reactions and conversations felt a bit overdone to me, not *quite* what "real" people would think and do. (To give just one example, I totally get why Brianna waited to tell Thomas that she was a widow. That's never a fun conversation to have, and it's difficult to judge just when in any relationship, romantic or not, you should bring it up. It does tend to be a conversation killer. However, Brianna's internal dialogue about this just didn't ring true. And Thomas's jumping to conclusions? Seemed much too extreme, even given his less than stellar romantic history. Combined, they made the scene feel flat, when I wanted to feel more genuine emotion.) The last third of the novel, though, was much stronger, and by the time I got to the end my overall impression was much improved. On the strength of that ending, I'm interested to see where this series is going next.

Okay so I haven't been reading for a week now. And yes that's a shocker for me but I picked up a boatload of books today and got emailed some lovely ARCs from Entangled publishing. I've never even heard of Diane Alberts before this and wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to read this book. That was partially because it was the second book in the series and I had never read the first one but also because the book cover makes it look like it's some book about a vampire. But it's not and I'll say it right now: don't judge a book by its cover, it's an age old saying but you know what they're right. If I had decided to not read it based on it's cover I would have missed out on one heck of a great book.
The summary says: "Thomas Jones has come to Vegas to win yet another account for his marketing company. But when he sits across from beautiful and sensual Brianna Faulk to deliver his pitch, his desire to leave Vegas as quickly as possible is replaced by the need to get close to her. Yet she resists his
    charm.
Brianna knows a date with Thomas could jeopardize her job, but he’s so maddening and insistent, she has a hard time denying him just one date. But that’s all it can be: one date. Because she has to protect her job and her secrets, even if it means giving up a chance at a life she never thought she’d have again."
This annoys me. Mostly because it makes Brianna's job and secrets a bigger problem than they really are. So she's a single mother with three kids it's not that big of a deal and it really shouldn't be if the guy genuinely likes you. But that was the only thing that annoyed me about the story. The rest was good to go.
I really enjoyed the interactions between Thomas and Brianna. There was so much sarcasm and snarkiness when they flirted and snapped at each other. It was so much fun to read. I honestly felt bad for Thomas though, his wife really left him broken but Brianna and he were there for each other to pick up the pieces and heal each other in process.
They were very cute together. Diane did a great job showing how their relationship made it hard for them to trust and be with each other. It's one of those books that are just warm, heartfelt, and very fluffy. They make you feel good after reading.

I received this ARC from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.

    Good Book. 4.5 stars

This is the first book I have read by Diane Alberts and it certainly won't be the last. To begin with, the cover is hot, which only makes me more interested in the book's content. The writing is well-paced, descriptive and brings out the true emotions of the characters.

The first chapter made me think alpha male and alpha female, but boy was I wrong. The male character, Thomas, is sensitive and real. His professional side is who he truly is, before he meet and gets to know Brianna. Brianna, the female lead, is a strong businesswoman that craves normalcy. Both characters are survivors and need each other to complete each other.

Looking forward to reading more from this author.

I was out of reading material the other day.

I know, I know. It was traumatic. I don’t know how I survived.

Then, the lovely and amazing Heather Riccio bailed me out with a copy of Love Me for review! Huzzah! I’ve read other awesomeness by Diane (who I also religiously stalk on Twitter) so I knew that I was going to love it.

    I was so right!

    The Blurb:

Thomas Jones has come to Vegas to win yet another account for his marketing company. But when he sits across from beautiful and sensual Brianna Falk to deliver his pitch, his desire to leave Vegas as quickly as possible is replaced by the need to get closer to her. Yet she resists his charm.

Brianna knows a date with Thomas could jeopardize her job, but he’s so maddening and insistent, she has a hard time denying him just one date. But that’s all it can be: one date. Because she has to protect her job and her secrets, even if it means giving up a chance at a life she never thought she’d have again.

    The Good:

S.T.E.A.M.Y! Whew! Goodness gracious. I had to fan myself while I was reading, and I couldn’t stop reading, which totally blew my “read and work at the same time” plan out of the water! There was a lot of fanning and blushing going on that day.

I really enjoyed the interactions between Thomas and Brianna. There was so much snarky goodness as he flirted with her and she shut him down. It was so much fun to read. I also loved the way that Thomas bravely threw himself into getting to know her kids and getting along with them. He was totally committed before he could even admit that he was. It was just adorable!

They were totally sweet together and Diane did a terrific job showing how their past hurts affected their current relationship. It was also heartwarming how committed they both were to overcoming all that and learning to trust someone again.

I love Diane, she’s a darling. I love her writing, she really gets in there and makes you feel all the feels, so I’d love her writing even if I didn’t love her. That’s really just not a problem though, cause she’s really awesome and you should follow her on Twitter too!

    The Bad:

S.T.E.A.M.Y! I got NO work done! Oh and I totally got choked up at the end. *sniffle*

    Overall:

Read this! It’s a fast, fun read and it leaves you feeling all warm and fuzzy afterward.

Love Me by Diane Alberts is the story of Thomas Jones a marketin

Love Me by Diane Alberts is the story of Thomas Jones a marketing executive who came to pitch Brianna Faulk his company's services - not to fall in love with the widow and her three children.
This is a cute story with a hot romance, but my favorite part was definitely the subplot where Thomas tries to win over Brianna's children and indeed does so one by one. Great characterizations and smooth plotting, make this a great read for anyone seeking a romance with a HEA.
Note: I received my e-book copy from Entangled with the promise for an honest review.

I give Diane Alberts’ Love Me 4 stars! This story of Thomas and Brianna is more close to reality and less-than-picture-perfect life than most. Both holding secrets, resentments still boiling, and barriers securely in place to keep others out, it was inevitable that Thomas and Brianna would clash and break each other down. Thomas, with his inability to want to love again, the impact his cheating ex-wife had on him with her negative words and her enjoyment in his suffering, he never wanted to be put in a vulnerable position with someone else again. Brianna, suffering from a love lost and a life that she is positive would set any man running in the opposite direction, and never believing she would find love twice in one life time, she keeps her distance from men.
Thrown into a business contract together, they find themselves in a situation they can’t seem to escape.
When I first received this book to review, I knew I had to read Try Me (the first to this series) before I jumped into this one. Even though I adored Jeremy and Erica and their deep love for each other, I found myself more drawn to Thomas and Brianna. They are both so tortured and raw from what life had dealt them over the last several years and their emotions continually run hot and cold towards each other, what they feel and the things they go through together are so real that I couldn’t help but fall in love with them.
Diane Alberts’ writing style is wonderful and I truly enjoyed the third person limited omniscient narration. I liked being able to know what Thomas was thinking and not Brianna and visa versa throughout the story. She brings out the emotions of Thomas and Brianna through her words and makes you feel like they are your emotions too. Thank you for the story of Thomas and Brianna!

(I received an ARC for my honest review and this is my honest to goodness, straight from the heart review!!)

While it's not a continuation of book 1 of the Take a Chance series it helps if you've read book 1 Try Me. You meet some of the characters in book 1.

I tried to like Thomas and Brianna but I just didn't feel they had a good enough spark. Both have suffered major heartbreak in the past. So tragic it's hard to either of them to move on. I understand where they're coming from but I just didn't feel like they were a good match for each other. I hadn't read book 1 so I purchased it hoping it would fill in some blanks for me but it didn't really. I'm not saying I won't read another book by this author but it just didn't grab me like I like my books to do.

Thomas is a marketing executive who has come to Vegas hoping to

Thomas is a marketing executive who has come to Vegas hoping to land a big contract with the Golden Hand Casino.  His company wants to branch into the Vegas market, but Thomas hates Vegas!  Then he meets Brianna, the business woman he will be dealing from Golden Hand Casino.  They literally bump into each other at their first meeting and things start to simmer!  Besides the business deal, Thomas is drawn to Brianna..."And he liked what he saw.  Perhaps too much.  When was the last time he was so inescapably attracted to a woman?"

Brianna is determined to keep their interactions solely about business.  What Thomas doesn't know is that she is a young widow with 3 children.  The last thing she wants or needs is to be drawn into a relationship with Thomas for the short time he'll be in Vegas.  But Thomas is nothing if not persistent right from the start and convinces Brianna she needs to go out with him that first night.  Brianna can't fight the pull of Thomas and they end up really hot and heavy in his hotel room before she panics and runs off.  Thomas wants both Brianna and the business account "And Brianna Faulk was offering more than one kind of chase, whether she knew it or not."

Brainna is struggling with moving on after her husband's death, her needs, and those of her children.  She is convinced Thomas will bolt once he finds out about her children, but he proves her wrong.  Thomas really wants to give things a chance and see how things go.  Even with his emotional baggage from a previous marriage, he's found something worth pursuing.  Brianna, despite her beauty and success, has little self confidence.  Initially she wonders if she is just a means for Thomas to secure the business contract, convinced he can't possibly want her just for her!

Thomas does everything he can to prove to Brianna that he wants a relationship with her and her children.  Brianna will have to trust in herself, her memories, and Thomas if they are to move forward and see where else fate takes them!  Both of them will need to open up to the other and face their insecurities and pasts in order to move on to a future together.  Can they do it?  Can Thomas accept and gain acceptance from Brianna's children that he's not going to let them down, that there can be a second chance for true love?

Diane gives us a really sweet romance in Love Me.  Both Thomas and Brianna were realistic people that the reader can relate too.  Watching them both struggle with their past insecurities has you rooting for them both to give it one more try.  With humor, hot sex, flirting and genuine people, Love Me is a smoothly written, heartwarming read!

I give Love Me 5 stars.

I'll admit, at first I was concerned. The first chapter wastes no time setting up the premise: Thomas Jones is a hotshot marketing executive off to convince a casino to hire his company on a contract. After the very definition of a meet-cute, he is introduced to Brianna Falk and then their tangled romance starts to weave.

Concern #1: At first, I thought Thomas would be your stereotypical douchy-executive with smooth moves (as did Brianna, I feel like I should point out so he fooled BOTH OF US!), who would later surprise everyone with his heart of gold.

Upsetting, 'I have to admit I was wrong' Point #1: Thomas, as it turns out, is a pretty nice guy. In fact, he's very interesting. Dark past, sad back story. Being nice doesn't equate to boring and Thomas finds a nice balance between being a cocky seemingly-player at times and someone who has a clear, warm heart.

Concern #2: After reading the blurb that described Brianna as 'beautiful and sensual Brianna Falk', I was concerned that this was a very librarian, 'I really know how to work a paper-cutter' sort of thing. (Wait, is that a thing? I dunno - remember my myriad of experience!)

Upsetting, 'I have to admit I was wrong' Point #2: She doesn't see herself as such, to the point of being a little annoyingly unsure of herself. But, considering the circumstance, it's understandable.

Apparently after reading the blurb, I was basically pairing up Don Draper with secretary from the Power Puff Girls.

    Whoops.

Characters aside, Alberts' writing is quick and snappy, just like their romance. And, for those of you who want to know, I never stumbled across the words 'love cave', which I think we all can appreciate. Instead you're treated to a fast-paced romance of two people who aren't quite sure whether they are ready to move on from previous heartbreak, but can't bring themselves to stop themselves in the process. There were a few times I wish certain relationships were expanded on, like the teenage son and the best friend, but this is a story of Thomas and Brianna and was understandably focused on such. They're at their best when arguing with one another; when the demons of their pasts are restrained and the sexual tension is high.

I believe this is point where I explain that this novel gets 5 'fans self' points.

Overall, it's a love story revolving around two people who are trying to understand what it means to fall in love for the second time, and how it affects the lives they already have set up. Their hesitation is authentic and even thought we know the resolution that's coming, we get to enjoy watching them struggle to reach it.
