    Classic Romance

Really enjoyable, fun to read, perfect for the beach, bath or couch. Follows a pretty classic formula of big handsome warrior plus vulnerable but determined young lady... and voila, chemistry! Very believable characters and nice level of suspense and sexy times. I will say that there are some technical quirks: The book shows 1380 pages, but they are only numbered even (then later only odd), so it's really half that. The book ended (for me) on page 1275 then crashed and would not go past that page number. Luckily it was within a page or two. It is also numbered per Nook page, not per paper page (since the Nook is way smaller than a print page), so it probably the equivalent of 250-300 pages in print. The author's previous book was similarly paginated. I wish B&N would make pagination/display rules consistent, or show word count in the book description?

    delightful Scottish historical romance

Early in sixteenth century Scotland, her husband Arran once tried to kill her brother, but failed. Now with Arran dead, Brianna Cameron feels free of his blight and wants to help villagers by teaching what she has learned from her wise sister-in-law. However, the coach she rides in topples off the road killing her two escorts and leaving Brianna badly battered. Fierce warrior Royce is healing from recent battle wounds nearby when he stumbles across the accident. He takes Brianna to his cottage so she can begin healing under his nurturing. As they remain in close proximity while mending from their respective wounds, they fall in love, but someone from her past plans to kill her unless her beloved can keep her safe. Fans of historical romance will gain much pleasure from this delightful tale of two individuals nurturing one another back to health following harrowing incidents. The lead protagonists are a charming duet who hooks the reader with caring gentle yet intrepid natures. With LOVE ME FOREVER and novels like ISLE OF LIES, Donna Fletcher is gaining a deserved reputation as one of the top authors of Scottish historical romances. Harriet Klausner

Beauty and the Beast in Scotland

This is a great book! The outsanding characters will leave you breathless and you can't turn the pages fast enough! Eventhough the relationship between Brianna and Royce can sometimes border on unbelievable, Fletcher has a way to make you believe anything is possible in this novel. For anyone out there who loves the classic tale of Beauty and the Beast, this is the book for you.

    Awesome

I really enjoyed this book. Fletcher is so good, yes this book is a little predictable, but in a good way. Read it you won't be sorry. Cute and romantic. With the action all there to tie it together!

One of the Sweetest Love Stories Ever...Even with Brianna's flaws.

I loved Royce Campbell; he was everything a woman could want in a man. He was loyal, attentive, considerate, handsome, intelligent, and a great leader of men. However, there were times when I thought Brianna was too immature for him, what with her giggles and petulant tantrums. At one point, rather than face Royce with her doubts and fears about their love, she literally fled the room, refusing to see him for days. And why she was so hard-headed about it to begin with? Granted, her first husband was a cad, but everyone knew almost from the onset that Royce was totally in love with her. I half-expected Royce to get fed up with trying to please her and leave her flat.

    Fun Read!

Great full length historical fiction romance novel. The characters were a bit unbelievable and at times the dialogue seemed contrived and forced...but hey it was a free romance read with a real plot!

    predictable

way to easy for this couple. there was barely any antagonist or conflict to make this story interesting. they met fell madly in love, discussed love endlessly, easily accepted their love, often proclaimed their love. . .love, love, love. the villian was there and gone almost instantly. sweet (syrupy sweet) couple, but relentlessly boring in their devotion and convictions.

    So romantic!

I have probably read over 150 romance books in the last year, and this book was easily in the top 10! It is the perfect blend of suspense, romance, comedy, and great love scenes! This is the kind of love all women dream of. Brianna is a bit to selfish, stubborn in my opinion, and that is the only problem i had with the story. I would recommend this book 10x over, and will probably re-read it several times (something i never do! ).

    Pulls at Your Heartstrings!

All I can say is this book was up there with Diana Gabaldon's Outlander. It will forever be one of my favorites. I mean who couldn't love this book. It is the ultimate Beauty and the Beast story. I laughed, I cried, and it even made me blush at certain times. I love the bath scene when Royce holds Brianna up while she has her first bath after the accident. If you enjoy a wonderful true *love story*, this book is for you...Thanks for another brilliant book Donna Fletcher...

    A Lovely, Endearing Love Story

Chieftain Royce Campbell has it all; exceptional looks, a wonderful, endearing personality, gentleness, as well as fearlessness in battle, and intelligence. He was also vulnerable when it came to those he loved, which added strength to his character. I thought Brianna lovely, though she was a little childish at times. This is one of those lasting memory books. It's truly one of the best stories I've ever read, due mainly to the lead character Royce, his love for Brianna, and his friendship with her brother, Ian Cameron, another handsome hero.

Boring, redundant, not worth your money. Author uses same lines over snd over again to fill 1600 pages.

    Good concept...bad editing

This one is a high 3 stars. I loved the concept, loved the characters and I am a sucker for Scottish/irish Historical romance. In fact, I've read so many of them they blend into each other after a while. This book's take on healing helped it to stand out. However, the editor was asleep on the job. It got too "sweet" at times and it really became repetitive in parts. I really hope that a good editor gets ahold of it and republishes.

    F A N T A S T I C!! Please read these in order - Isle of Lies

F A N T A S T I C!! Please read these in order - Isle of Lies and then Love me Forever. I agree with other readers that Brianna didn't make sense sometimes. Royce warned her he had thought he lacked a soul and she didn't believe him. When she learns his true idenity, she leaves him. Well, he tried to warn her!! Anyway, still loved this book, had twists you didn't expect and loved how character's from Book 1 reappeared in this book. As another reviewer said, don't be fooled by the 1600 pages. Sometimes it would skip 20 pages and sometimes 3-5. Still a long book and well worth the money - I loved it.
