I recommend this book. I don't normally read Christian fiction but it was refreshing to read without all the cussing and blatant sex scenes. Good mystery, well developed characters and excellent writing. This is a series and I've bought the next two to read.

Stumbled onto this book in my local library. It is well written and sucks you into the story so that you have to read all three of the books to be satisfied with the ending. When I saw it on the free listing one day, I had to get it on my Nook to read again. The language is clean and the action and suspense is gripping.

This was a interesting little mystery and I enjoyed that part, however I had some problems with the characters. First, Trish is seriously messed up. Her family issues, issues with law enforcement and her inability to listen to her instincts regarding right and wrong made her difficult to like. The good and decent man who loves her is repeatedly insulted and rejected, she is bad mannered and sends him mixed signals. He comes across as a door mat of a man who will put up with Trish treating him like dirt. I don't even understand why the guy was attracted to her. She yearns for, and dreams of love, family and happiness and when she's offered it, totally rejects it all. Meh.

I read through all the reviews after I read this book. I was worrried there would be a review by harstan ( Harriet Klausner) she is the worst plot spoiler to ever write a review, so I read most books first anymore. This indeed, one of those books readers either love or hate. There does not seem to be much middle ground expressed. This book was the perfect length for a lazy afternoon. It is christain fiction, so no sex, violent murder descriptions or curse words. It is a little heavy on the preaching and scripture, but not aggavatingly so. The main character was very annoying. Towards the end I was hoping someone would hit her in the head with a two by four. The end was unsatisfactory I was disappointed. I doubt I will read another book by this author. A mature 13 year old could read this book. AD

The main character was extremely difficult to like and was extremely annoying. The plot wasn't anything special and the author had a bad habit of meaningless run on sentences and thoughts. Don't waste your time with this book.

I really enjoyed this book. Ending a little disappointing but leads to sequel, so I get it. Worthwhile to read.

While this book was a real page-turner, the ending seemed unsatisfying in that the reader doesn't get confirmation that the heroine of the story has finally made the right choice to accomplish her goals of finding long-lasting love. The heroine continually affirms her desire to lead a normal life with a husband and children after spending three years in jail. However, when love comes a-knockin', she moves on and doesn't even give it a chance. At least if the author had left us with a hint that the heroine would re-think her departure and continue to communicate with the man who loved her, it wouldn't have felt so (I'll say it again!) - unsatisfying!

I really have taken a great dislike to the main character. She is jealous, petty, self-righteous, and belligerent. She puts others down to make herself feel better. No redeeming qualities. Unbelievable and unlikely storyline. I feel sorry for the other stereotypical characters stuck in this story.

I have not read any of this author before and was pleasantly surprised. It is a light summer-read but full of suspense. I looked forward to my bedtime so I could read in peace. I will read this author again!

I wish I did not read this. It was so far fetched...a murder that she is accused of in her home and she returns there? The author forgets details like Tish seriously hurt her foot and leg, months of recovery...then its better in 2 days? Many mistakes like that.

I never wanted to put it down! Not a challenging read that will stretch your mind if that's what you're looking for, but a great story. Tish keeps you guessing! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

Tish's propensity for screaming and falling down was a bit too much for me, as was her ability to decide a guy's looks & sexy accent were all she needed to start planning a future with him. But the mystery kept me reading. I wanted to know who was dead and who dunnit. While Tish definitely had "issues" that made her less than likeable, I thought her paranoia and quirkiness were vital to the unfolding of the story. You don't have to like her to feel compassion and root for her. I haven't read the next two books yet, but I suspect we haven't seen the last of Officer Brad.

So, this story didn't exactly go the way I had expected - which was a very refreshing thing! I loved the main character, although there were times when her defensiveness and abrasiveness felt unwarranted. The plot and the characters were interesting, but several of them could have used more development. I say read it, if for no other reason than you have a couple of hours of down time and want something fun to do. It'll hold your interest, no doubt.
