Love Park based on 0 ratings. 3 reviews.
Love Park is the debut novel by Lancaster, PA's born Jim Zervanos. The characters are rich and multi-layered. Their journey through life's trials is a compelling tale of the road to forgiveness. Through the eyes of his 26-year-old, Greek-American protagonist, the author explores father-son conflict, sibling rivalry, sexual dysfunction and romantic triangles. His prose style is sharp and full of nuance and a great deal of humor. Indeed, Chapter 22 is one of the funniest reads in American Literature. Zervanos also takes us on a visual tour of the rich resources of public art in the city of Philadelphia. All together an excellent effort and a worthy addition to any reading list or library.
Jim Zervanos paints a wonderful portrait of a father son relationship in a Greek family tradition. It is a tale everyone can relate to and enjoy. The author also manages to create a compelling "picture" of Philadelphia and it's traditions and picturesque surroundings. The sub plots of the main character's foibles with love also keep the reader engrossed in the complex relationship issues. A great summer read, the novel contains many nuances which keep the reader glued to the pages.
