Overview

Italy, August 1420: A gypsy named Lilith sees her lover hanged for a crime he didn't commit. On the gallows, he swears to return to her. Convinced that one day he'll be reborn, she searched for a fabled elixir -- rumored to grant immortality...

Toronto, August 1999: Waiting has taken its toll on Lility, now a fortune-teller with a gift for matchmaking. So she concocts her strongest love potion ever. She is certain her magic has worked when the spitting image of her one true love moves in next door.

A very practical -- and skeptical -- single father, Mitch Davison is intrigued by Lilith's passionate welcome, yet suspicious of her motives. After all, he's never believed in magic -- and hasn't believed in love since his wife left him. But when Lilith doubts her own intuition, it's Mitch who must convince her that the greatest gift of all is the talent to follow your own heart...

This edition includes excerpts from THE MOONSTONE and THE BEAUTY BRIDE.

A great read! I didn't put this book down. It has the mysteries of gypsy life along with magic and spells. I loved it! It shows that destiny can sometimes play games with your heart. Really good read, well-written.

Such a different type of book about magic, love, sadness and joy. It is almost 900 nook pages and I didn't get anything done today, because I couldn't put this down, and finished it. You think you have it figured out, but you don't. I have read over 10 of her books, and this is a favorite. Not only great main character's, but wonderfully written secondary ones too. The ending will surprise you, in a good way! (Ljb)

A FLUFFY LITTLE ROMANCE! Lilith is an all purpose immortal witch who communicates with the birds and the butterflies and makes a living as a fortune teller. With Lilith around there are spells and potions for everyone, even the dog and cat. Lilith has waited years for her one true love only to fall for the new neighbor next door, who at first she thinks is her one true love. The guy next door-Mitch-a cynic beyond the norm can't keep his eyes or his hands off Lilith. He doesn't believe she is a witch and sets out to prove it only to fall under her "magic " spell. The question that drives Mitch thru the first half of the book-specifically how can someone live for six hundred years and leave no trace or record-is never answered. However that is over shadowed by the cuteness of Mitch's kids and the personality of his dog and her cat, along with an interesting cast of supporting characters. The supposed one true love shows up, a bit over done in the obnoxious category but he feels right given his history. I like the resolution! But I am not telling it would spoil the surprise ending. Great weekend read. Take it to the beach. Copy gifted by publisher in exchange for an honest review.
