Overview

Released in 2004 by Columbia/Legacy, Love & Rapture is more like "Most of Peabo Bryson's Early '90s Hits" than a true best-of compilation. The majority of the content comes from the two albums Bryson released on Columbia during the early '90s: Can You Stop the Rain and Through the Fire. While the disc does contain the number one R&B single "Can You Stop the Rain," as well as Bryson's hit duets from the Aladdin and Beauty and the Beast soundtracks, the Top Ten R&B single "Closer Than Close" is absent. That should be a deal breaker for those who expect the label to do right by a brief period of Bryson's lengthy career. ~ Andy Kellman
