"Love is a hole in the heart." ~Ben Hecht

They say it's impossible to love and be wise. Love Stinks understands why you fell so hard in the first place--and has the words of wisdom you need to hear now that your heart's been crushed. From Virginia Woolf and Oscar Wilde to Woody Allen and Amy Sedaris, the revealing words in Love Stinks puts you in good company. You might laugh; you'll probably cry, but as Khaled Hosseini once said, it is "better to be hurt by the truth than comforted with a lie."

As the four kits padded out of the den, slightly ruffled fur from excitement. Troutstar called the clan. The powerful bronze tom gazed over the clan. "Cats of RiverClan. Today is a special day. Four kits have become of age. They will become apprentices today." He meowed, in the bold and powerfull voice that only he had. Troutstar gazed down at the kits with a warm blue gaze. -Something was hidden beneath that gaze...what was it...- Chillkit's thoughts were cut off by Troutstar's next words. "Chillkit, Currentkit, Rapidkit, and Greenkit. Please step forward." He meowed. Chillkit jumped, the white she struggling not to bound up to Highlog. Greenkit's emerald eyes shone, containing her excitement, just like Rapidkit and Currentkit. Rapidkit actually bounded a few feet before the blue-gray tom, Currentkit shoved him back into line with a gentle flick from his long tail. Rapidkit stuck his tounge out at Currentkit breifly, icy eyes glittering with mischeif. Once the four kits got up to High Log, Chillkit noticed how big Troutstar was. "No wonder everyone is scared of you..." Currentkit meowed, awed. "No, not everyone will run away from me in battle." Troutstar meowed, his own eyes showing laughter. Currentkit's eyes widened when he realized he had spoken aloud. "I-I am sorry Troutstar!" He stammered. "I didn't mean to say that!" He said quickly. The other three kits couldn't contain it any longer and fell to the ground with laughter. When they tried to stop, they kept on laughing because of how hard Currentkit was trying not to laugh too. "What is going on up there, Troutstar?!" Reedstem yowled, unhappy. "Oh, Currentkit said something he didn't mean to, and these three started laughing." Troutstar awnsered, then all RiverClan apprentices laughed too. "You should've seen the look on his face." Meadowpaw meowed, her voice mocking. She exaggerated impression of his expression. The other apprentices burst out laughing. The three kits finally got it together and stood back on their feet. "Anyways, Currentkit, Chillkit, and Rapidkit." Troutstar meowed once the laughter died down. "Please step forward." The three kits stepped forward, wondering why Greenkit wasn't called. The tan she looked as happy as usual though. "StarClan, these kits have come of age, and are ready to begin their training. I am sure they will train hard in the ways of warriors." He meowed, his head tipped to the sky. "Currentkit, from this day forward, you will be known as Currentkit, and Rainpool will be yiur mentor. Rainpool is kind, caring and loyal, and she should train you well." The two touched noses. "Rapidkit, you wil be known as Rapidpaw and your mentor will be Feraltooth. As the deputy, you shall teach him like I tought you." He meowed. Rapidkit reluctantly touched noses with Feraltooth. "Chillkit, you will be Chillpaw and train under Sundancer. She is one of my most loyal warriors, and will teach you great things." Chillkit beamed. Sundancer! The nicest warrior in the clan! Chillkit touched noses with the golden warrior. "Finnaly Greenkit. You will be known as Greenpaw and train as a medicine cat under Deeproot."
