If you like romance, this isnt for you. Johnson writes great sex scenes. Her heroes are self indulgent man whores. Alex had sex with so many... and we read about them all-yuck. Zena gets to have sex with another b/c she is raped! (Never tells her Alex, just goes on as if no big deal). He is cheating while she is captive, when she is pregnant, even when she takes a nap... just a dog. Then he gets jJEALOUS over Alistair and thinks the baby is Yuri's... what an idiot. Read it for the sex zero romance here...they dont even get to know each other.

Love storm is a story of intense lust and passion about the handsome Russian Prince Alexander Nikolaevich Kuzan and the young, innocent, beauty, Zena Turku, the daughter of Baron Turku. Alex has a past of hard, cold-hearted women in his bed and life and has learned to use women as a means to only warm his bed, not his heart. He rescues Zena as she is running away from a forced marriage with the revolting, aging General Scobluff. Thinking she is a courtesan, he takes her innocence and then attempts to justify his action by taking her into his protection. Zena has been raised to be a lady, and although she feels the passion and desire that Alex has awakened in her young body, her heart becomes more involved and she begins to fall deeply in love with Alex. She soon discovers that she is carrying his child and knowing that he can never offer her the love she so desires, she flees, only to be captured as a love slave in a harem. Alex begins his search and rescues Zena once more while in this erotic sensual captivity. As Zena is with him once more, he continues to take her in passion and lust while struggling with his hard heart and unrecognized feelings of love. Finally her family discovers the relationship and insists on a marriage, which causes further conflict as a marriage of convenience is anything but. This is not a story for the light romance reader. The sex scenes are intense and many times rough, as intense and rough as the emotional relationship between these two intensely passionate individuals, time and place. The story twists and turns and sweeps across Russia and the harems of Turkish sheikhs and beys while Alex fights his love for Zena. Zena continues to give into Alex time and again. Some readers may have problems coming to terms with the intense sex and Zena appearing weak, but in a period of history where women did not have much power, in this character's defense, Zena begins the story as a young, weak girl, who at the end becomes a strong woman winning the love of a man who seemed incapable of ever loving. The story is well-researched and developed, as the reader is swept away in the beauty and history of the Russian aristocracy. It is a pleasure to see this reissue of an epic erotic romance destined to be part of a new generation of romance collections.

This was a truly romantic love story from beginning to end. The love scenes were unlike any I had ever read before and have purchased many more of Susan's books and am impressed with the imagination needed for producing such great works of art. The Harem scene was one of my favorite parts of the book.

I've never read books from Susan Johnson before and I hate to stay I hated this book and regret that it was the first I've read. The beginning was a great start to it, but when she got captured, it reminded me of some type of gang rape starting and just made me sick. Also the rape scene towards the end was just horrible to read. Both those scenes could have been left out and the book could have been a great read. I do have to say, I've heard Susan Johnson does write really good books and I will try another. Hopefully the next won't have the same effect on me.

This was my first susan johnson book, and i have continued to read her others as well. The story was so well written that you can actually paint the picture in your head. I absolutely loved it. and as far as people not liking the rape scenes and the sale scene, give me a break it's a story. that's what was so great about it, she was developing a character as well as a plot.

I definitely advise the squeamish to stay away from this book. & the reviewer who said she liked THE RAPE!!! scene with the TURK!! & the sale scene: Please grow up!!!Hey, & you can learn much more about Napoleon if u read TABOO ( strangely enoughby the same author!!!)

I love all susan johnsons books.I feel like I am there in the story, that is why this one was tough for me.I felt that I was getting very upset throughout this book. The love scenes were erotic like all her books.I didnt however care for the rape involved in the story, very graphic. I wasnt disapointed overall.I felt all my emotions in this book..I am still glad I read it.

I am a huge fan of romance books, but this book is far from being romantic. Some parts of the book were so horrible that I couldn't even read it. I have nothing against sex in a story, but the parts where Zena was captured and then later raped were so awful. Thats not entertaining reading. It made me sick to my stomach. The only reason that I finished reading the book was because I wanted to know if Zena at least had a happy ending. Even that wasn't that great. After everything she was put through, I thought it could have been a happier ending. I ordered a few other of Susan Johnson's books at the same time, but I'm almost afraid to read them now.

I am 16 years old and I have read only 2 books from Susan Johnson. They are Wicked and Love Storm. I enjoyed reading both of the novels. I will tell you that it did catch my attention and had me feening for more. You fall in love with the characters and you feel that thier problems are your problems. What I really liked about the book(s) is that it made me feel like I was watching a movie and I couldn't wait to finish it. I would find any where to read it to see what happened next. While reading Love storm, I felt sympathy for the young maiden and I admired her too. Same for the you man in the novel. This book will have you gasping, crying, laughing and heartwarmed.....if I even make sense.....but I do give it 5 stars and I am so happy I read it! Thank you Susan and I intend on reading all of your novels! Keep up the well written novels.
