And as if that's not enough, she happens to be the key to her father's plans to take over the world . . . and he'll stop at nothing to get what he wants.

All this and she's still got to plan the prom. Being a teenager is tough, but being a teenage vampire just flat out sucks!

Love hurts, but sometimes it's a good hurt

Love Sucks! picks up where Bite Me! left off, and does it ever kick the story up a notch! AJ is in a much better place as far as her feelings for Ryan goes - though the love will always be there, her heart has come to terms with Ryan being her stepbrother and not her boyfriend anymore. They both have committed to putting family first and protecting everyone including their sibling-to-be from any harm. I think Ms. Francis hit the ground running with Love Sucks! which is to be expected since the stage has been neatly set already. She throws in a delightful mix of new characters - and I admit that Lex was pretty dreamy snack and totally man enough to heal AJ's broken and lonely heart. I approved wholeheartedly, even though Ryan was pretty upset with this new development and suspected Lex of being evil. With due cause, but is there any hard evidence? You'll have to read and find out! :} Love Sucks! is perfect if you're looking for a light, fluffy vampire read. It falls along the same fun-loving vein as Kimberly Pauley's Mina Hamilton series that I also enjoyed. The story gets a little dark and edgy to keep the suspense up, but all in all, a delectable treat if you need something to snack on!

    better than the first

exciting and will keep you guessing what's going to happen. I liked this book more than the first and was sad to find out there weren't going to be anymore in the series. Fast read and well worth the time. AJ is dealing with the fact that she still has the hots for her ex-boyfriend, now stepbrother and is maybe feeling all gushy about her trainer Lex (who i loved by the way!) All the while AJ and Ryan have to find 3 Runes before the bad guys do or life as they know it could cease to exist. This book is dramatic and funny, would recommend it to anyone who loves this genre.

Reviewed by Kira M for Teens Read Too

After getting rid of her vampire stalker and wacko ex-teacher, AJ's undead life should be all candy and roses, right? Wrong. With a half-vampire, half-warlock baby on the way for her family (that a lot of people just happen to want dead), a hot ex-boyfriend-turned-stepbrother in the house, and having to learn to block people out of her mind so the bad guys don't pull her through to another place, AJ's got her hands full. The bad guys (the Serpentine) want AJ to find a set of special runes that quite possibly will help them go back in time and make it so that AJ and her family never existed. Can AJ find the runes and decipher their meaning before it's too late? Can she learn to block out the Serpentine completely, before she becomes a victim of their schemes? LOVE SUCKS! is a fun, mystery-filled adventure that keeps the reader on their toes. The characters are extremely entertaining and well-developed, even the bad guys. The plot moves fairly fast and is well-done. Readers who like paranormal adventure, romance, and semi-realistic fiction will enjoy reading this book.

    Better then the first!

This is the sequel to Bite Me! by Melissa Francis. I really enjoyed this book. I have to say that it was better then the first one. I felt like the story was better developed and of coarse I was much happier with the romantic developments in this one. Keep in mind if you have not read the first book this review will contain some spoilers for that book so reader beware.

Bite Me! Left off after A.J. and Ryan finally except that they are now brother and sister...well at least thats what they say ;) They decide this once they discover the truth about each other, AJ. and her family are vampires and Ryan and his family are warlocks. Plus their parents are going to have a baby, a baby that is prophesied to be the barer of the mark of both Frieceadan and the Serpentine clans. The baby would render the Serpentine's powerless because its blood will be the anti-serum to their venom. So they all must ban together to protect their family.

When Love Sucks! picks up, AJ is moving on, or at least that's what she tells herself and Ryan decided to give his relationship with Lindsey a try. Despite their efforts, it is clear their feelings for each other are still nowhere close to that of a brother and sister. But a new vampire in town named Alexander Archer provides just the distraction A.J. needs. Only now she must choose beteew Sexy Lexy and her unwavering feelings for Ryan. Soon A.J.'s past catches back up and she is once again being hunted by the Serpentine's. Her mother is in intensive care and the evil father that abandoned her eight years ago maybe the only one who can save her. But what will he want in return? Just when you think that the story is all wrapped up Melissa Francis drops one more bombshell. You might see it coming (or at least be hopping for it) but you wont be disappointed ;)

    love sucks!

AJ has to plan a Prom, train her mind against enemies with a hot vampire trainer named Lex and his brother Robbie, find the three runes, and try to stop having feelings for her step-brother Ryan in this sequel to Bite Me! In Love Sucks, AJ's mom finally has the baby that is both vampire and warlock and all hell breaks loose. AJ's dad comes back in the picture and he's wants the runes. After having the baby, AJ's mom is real weak and needs pure Serpentine blood to live. AJ's dad will give the blood if AJ gives him the runes. And if that's not enough, AJ has to choose between Lex and Ryan as to whom to trust and love. Love Sucks! is a great story of love and betrayal. Melissa Francis does a great job of showing what effect a father has on their kids when he leaves and comes back. I've been through that troubling situation , so I can connect with AJ on that issue.

    Great Read!

AJ Ashe (teenage-vampire-girl-next-door) has her plate full. Not only does she have to deal with her taboo romantic feelings for her ex-boyfriend turned step brother, Ryan, she also has to fight off the Serpentine vampire clan that wants to use AJ to take over the world. Oh, and she also has to come up with a prom theme. What AJ needs is to up her superskills. Good thing she has bad-boy-vampire-trainer sexy Lex to help her out!

This book is funny, scary, and superbly written. You'll read it in one sitting!
