Overview

Lauren Layne’s Sex, Love & Stiletto series simmers to a boil as two high-powered magazine writers find love amid a war of words.

As a leading columnist for Stiletto, Grace Brighton has built a career warning women about rotten, cheating liars. She just never suspected her fiancé would be one of them. After Grace takes a heart-mending hiatus, her first assignment is to go on a couple of dates with a counterpart from the men’s magazine Oxford and report her impressions. Grace 1.0 may have been instantly smitten with the gorgeous correspondent, but Grace 2.0 has sworn off relationships for six months, and she’s not falling for his outstanding bod and trophy-winning kisses . . . or is she?

Jake Malone wants to get back to the fly-by-night, who-knows-what’s-next guy he used to be, and he knows exactly how to do it. Oxford is adding a travel section, and Jake—with no wife and no kids and a willingness to live anywhere, eat anything, do everything—is perfect for the job . . . except that his playboy reputation makes his new editor nervous. To get the gig, he must agree to a fluffy joint article with Stiletto. But after just one date with snooty, sumptuous, sensational Grace Brighton, Jake starts taking this assignment a whole lot more seriously.

Praise for Love the One You’re With

“Spunky, flirty, and full of sass, Love the One You’re With is everything a romance should be! Lauren Layne has a winner.”New York Times bestselling author Christie Craig

“A sparkling romance for any woman who’s ever reinvented herself . . . or wants to.”—Stephanie Bond, bestselling author of Stop the Wedding!

“A fun and sexy romp through Manhattan, Love the One You’re With is a great addition to the Stiletto series!”—Elisabeth Barrett, author of Slow Summer Burn

“Great characterizations, amazing chemistry, witty banters, and heartfelt conversations. Amazing writing from Lauren Layne.”Girl Meets Books

“I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a fun romantic story! It’s already on my list of books I will re-read soon!”Inside the Pages of a Book

“The second in the Sex, Love & Stiletto series, Love the One You’re With is a story of overcoming heartache, jaded stereotypes and regaining self-confidence. It is a glimpse into what women and men go through on those first dates of a budding relationship.”Literarily Illumined

“Less than a ‘Battle of the Sexes’ than two people trying to win in tiny skirmishes, there are several quips that add humor and lightness to the story, breaking up the angst. With a return of the characters from the first story, and a few new characters to boot, this is warming up to be a clever, fun-loving with moments of steam story that many will eat up with a spoon.”I Am, Indeed

“Lauren Layne has a flair for writing romances filled [with] chemistry and sizzle, but more than that, ones that touch your heart.”Waves of Fiction

“There was real emotion here but it didn’t descend into melodrama. Another triumph for Ms. Layne!”I Love Romantic Fiction

Once again Lauren Layne has another winner with Love the One You

Once again Lauren Layne has another winner with Love the One You're With, book two in The Stiletto Series. It is a solid read; complete with an engaging storyline, delightful characters and seductive sensuality. Julie, Grace and Riley are back, along with a new cohort in crime, Emma. The four women are taking the magazine business to new heights by branching out online, transitioning from the glossy sheets of the written page to the craziness of blogging and an online contest. Grace Brighton is the focus of this story.

Grace recently found out that her fiance and boyfriend of many years was cheating on her. For the next six months she is embracing her singleton and listening to her inner voices. After a short recuperation, she is back at her desk ready to write.

As Grace is one of most senior columnists for Stiletto, the hottest women's magazine in the country, playboy Jake Malone is equally as well known for his column in Oxford, the magazine with the pulse on the male population. The editors of both magazines have agreed to write a joint series of articles in order to attract new readers and overall publicity for both publications. Reluctantly, both Grace and Jake have been assigned to this new venture, which requires them to date each other, and separately share their accounts in print and online, so that their readers can ultimately decide which magazine understands more about the opposite sex. The lengths they both go through to achieve their goals are effective, creative, and fun. What a roller-coaster ride!

This book can be read as a stand alone, even though it is part of a series. I found the story to be original and sexy. The characters are chock full of personality and a heroic Jake is the icing on the cake. I was lucky enough to read the first book in the series and can't wait for the third one.

ARC provided by NetGalley from the publisher.

I just finished reading an ARC of this and it was Fan-freaking-t

I just finished reading an ARC of this and it was Fan-freaking-tastic!! Lauren Layne is a new to me author that I am beyond happy to have discovered. This book is funny, sexy and touching! The characters are great, the story flows at a great pace and there is just a touch of angst but only enough to keep you guessing. Laugh out loud funny read that everyone needs to have on their Must read list!

Love the Book Lauren Layne's second book in the Stiletto series

    Love the Book
Lauren Layne's second book in the Stiletto series is delightfully fun with just the right amount of "Awww." The characters seem real. They have issues. They have plans for the future that don't include a relationship. They don't fall in love in a day. They do make me smile. And laugh.  Can't wait for the next book.

    Really Great!

Really great light hearted romp about girl-got-dumped and perpetual bachelor looking for travel. It is similar to the movie How to Lose a Guy in 10 days but the characters man and secondary were all great. There was much to love about this one.

    Ok

Good stories and writing but to me seem disturbingly similar to Christina Lauren's "Beautiful" series.

    Loved this

This one really surprised me. I had never read anything by this author before and thought, what the heck, I'll give it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. It was sexy, romantic and very funny. I liked it so much I preordered the next release and bought the one before it!
