The Lovels of Arden

Overview

The lamps of the Great Northern Terminus at King's Cross had not long been lighted, when a cab deposited a young lady and her luggage at the departure platform. Overview

The lamps of the Great Northern Terminus at King's Cross had not long been lighted, when a cab deposited a young lady and her luggage at the departure platform. It was an October twilight, cold and gray, and the place had a cheerless and dismal aspect to that solitary young traveller, to whom English life and an English atmosphere were somewhat strange.
She had been seven years abroad, in a school near Paris; rather an expensive seminary, where the number of pupils was limited, the masters and mistresses, learned in divers modern accomplishments, numerous, and the dietary of foreign slops and messes without stint.
Dull and gray as the English sky seemed to her, and dreary as was the aspect of London in October, this girl was glad to return to her native land. She had felt herself very lonely in the French school, forgotten and deserted by her own kindred, a creature to be pitied; and hers was a nature to which pity was a torture. Other girls had gone home to England for their holidays; but vacation after vacation went by, and every occasion brought Clarissa Lovel the same coldly worded letter from her father, telling her that it was not convenient for him to receive her at home, that he had heard with pleasure of her progress, and that experienced people with whom he had conferred, had agreed with him that any interruption to the regular course of her studies could not fail to be a disadvantage to her in the future.

    Sandstars sister chp.5

"The prophecy came to honeypool, not me. So she took you to tigerclan and i decided my sons mate would nurse you and your brothers and sisters. Tommorow will be yours and moonpaws warrior ceremony." Sunnystar mewedm Sandpaw shifted uncomfortably. "Whats wrong?" "Will my littermates become apprentices?" She asked. "Oh sandpaw, a bear killed all of them but atumnkit." Sandpaw ran to the nursery and saw the ripped bodies of her littetmates. A voice in her head whispered,"it was interesting!" The voice had anger in it, unlike any sandpaw had heard before.***************"May all cats old enough to catch their own prey gather beneath the highrock for a clan meeting! Moonpaw is skilled enough to be warrior. From this moment on, he will be known as moonshadow. Sandpaw is also very skilled and from this moment on, she will be sandtalon in honor of her strength in battle. Atumnkit has reached his seventh moon and is now atumnpaw. Moonwing will be his mentor. Fawnheart and embershadow are ready to retire and will be joining fuzzypelt in the elders den. Clan dissmissed."

    Sandstars sister chp. 2

Sunnystar said,"that was very naughty to fake being sick. Your punishment is waiting under the highrock. "Sandkit rushed to the highrock where sunnystar was waiting."may all cats old enough to catch their prey gather beneath the highrock for a clan meeting! Sandkit is old enough to be an apprentice. Im sandpaws mentor and as a punishment for earlier on today, she will spend one day out of camp alone. Clan dismissed" sandpaw was horrified. In the forest? Alone?she quickly ran out and she noticed the closer she got to the pantherclan border, her stomache hurt a little less. Soon she was almost across the border when she saw another apprentice that looked just like her, running to the border... (sorry this chapter was short. I needed a good cliffhanger so i will tell you who the other apprentice is. Its... i cant tell you. Read the next chapter when i finish.)
