Just like her first book "Love Love", I love love her stories. Beth's got such a flare to her writing, she gets right down to it. Lovely has an unexpected ending, but it makes sense. I can't wait to read her next book! Keep it up Beth! :-)Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

**JUST BOOKED received an ARC for an honest review**
Lovely begins as Ashton Taylor, a twenty-two year old good-looking six foot one guy, with an athletic defined body including: solid triceps
and biceps, an amazing six pack from the constant workouts at the gym, and an Adonis’ “V” belt to drive just about any girl crazy. Ash
also has dark hair cropped short, but his pronounced jaw and hazel eyes are from his father. Ash is sitting in the parking lot one
morning pondering who he is as a person, because one moment his life was great. He had a fantastic relationship with his family, he
was an amazing athlete, he sung, dance, a scholar, and received a baseball scholarship to UC San Diego. Unfortunately a dark cloud
shadowed his life when Ash’s world came crashing down, Ash lost his hero father due to cancer and he decided to change his life to
become the man his family needed for him to be. Ash withdrew from school for a year, only to enroll at Glendale College so he could be
closer to his mother - Dolores, his sister - Delilah, and his brother - Cole.
After experiencing the emotional devastation his father death caused his family, he vows to never love another person as much his
mother loved his father so he or no one else experiences such a heartbreak. Therefore, Ash does not look for relationships with girls
but instead dates various women to fill his physical needs. Until he lays eyes on a lovely angel with soft waves of chestnut curls,
flawless cream skin, perfectly shaped raspberry lips, rich chocolate brown eyes, and all hidden behind a pair of black rimmed glasses
that were too large for her face named Cara Hayward.
Cara was quite, shy, a loner, studious, part-time librarian, and she loved poetry. Ash encounters Cara at the library but seems
something in her eyes – sadness. He feels she is trying to hide behind her glasses or go unnoticed, when all the glasses did was
bring more attention to her. For the first time in years, Ash feels something when he sees Cara and seeks his sister, Delilah, help to
find out about his lovely angel. Cara is also hiding and has built a wall to protect herself from others, because she has had a horrible
childhood. Her mother was an alcoholic who did not love and protect her, but made her feel worthless. She was her father’s little girl,
but he was not around due to being away on business and then was taken from her too early in her life.
Ash discovers Cara is very different from all the girls he has previously dated, but is determined to get a date with his lovely angel. After
many failed attempts, Cara finally agrees to go on a date with Ash and their relationship becomes heart felt. Ash and Cara discovery
they have more in common than they thought and may be what each other needs to heal their broken hearts. Will Ash be able to tear
down Cara’s walls and find out why she is trying to hide behind her large glasses? Will Cara be the girl to open Ash’s heart again and
teach him there is no loss in LOVE?

Lovely was emotional, gripping, creative and sweet. I really enjoyed the story being told by the male POV, and that our hero, Ash, wasn't afraid to show those he loved just how much he cared!! Everyone always roots for the underdog, so it struck me as special that our heroine, Cara, was the underdog! I was pulling for her through the entire book! Beth Michele always creates distinctive, real, supporting characters with charm, humor and flaws. Love them all! This story had me smiling through my tears! I definitely recommend this gut wrenching read!!!Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

5 PLUS STARS!!! Amazing! Wonderful! Fantastic! Exceptional! Should I go on. If I could rate it with more than 5 stars I would. I loved loved loved this one! It starts off from the start being different. How you ask? Well it is from the guys POV. That's not different you say, well I think this is the first book I have read that the entire story is in the male POV. It was a sweet heartfelt story. It starts of with a little sadness because you know that Ashton's father has died and anytime a parent or anyone dies it is sad. But don't let that get you down because it is also filled with laughs, sweetness, romance, and happiness too. I was laughing, smiling, and crying. I won't telling much but I will say I ugly cried. Yep! I did maybe more than once (I'm not telling) you will have to read it to find out if it was only once or more than once. I fell in love with Ash even with his cockiness and then just kept falling the more I got to know him.
It was wonderfully written and all the characters were well built. Ms. Michele drew me in from the start and I didn't want to put it down. It was one of those that you just can't stop reading and then I was sad that it ended so soon. I didn't care that it was 4AM when I finished it I would have gladly kept reading if it had gone on. This is the first book of Beth Michele's I have read and I know she has another book out and I want to go read it also because I loved this one so much. I just want more of her writting and can't wait to see if her other work is as great as this one.
Beth Michele you have a new fan!

When Beth offered up a copy of Lovely to me to read and review I was excited. I read Love, Love and fell in love with Ben and I knew that without a doubt I would fall in love with Ashton’s story.
One thing I know for sure with Beth is that she pours her heart and soul into her stories and that of her characters. She knows how to write a story, she knows how to get it to all flow together nicely and in the end you are left with a piece of her characters in your heart forever.
This story has it all, heartbreak, angst, humor, steam, and the best characters. You will laugh, cry, you will get angry, but in the end I truly believe Ashton and Cara will hold a special place within your heart too.
"I was afraid, but I'm not anymore. I was unsure, but I'm more sure than ever. My world was dark, “her eyes meet mine, "but you've filled it with light. I was hiding from the world, but I don't want to hide from you."
Cara has had a rough childhood, with a father who was always away on business she was left with her drunken mother who did nothing but verbally degrade her every chance she could get. This caused Cara to hide behind big dorky glasses and close herself off to everyone. When Ash saw this he knew she was different and in a good way and he knew that he had to find out more about her.
“I am a devoted son, responsible brother, trusted friend, excellent student, and a good f***. I’ve been told I’m talented. And I suppose things come easy to me. My life seems perfect.”
Ash is a player; he excels in all sports, and even with the chics. But there is one thing he does not have and that is everything going for him like everyone thinks. Ash is very lonely; he has been through a lot. After his father dies Ash devotes his time to helping his mom and taking care of his family. He is there for everyone, but he has no one there for him. Ash broke my heart honestly. Here is a young guy who has lost his dad ( who was also his hero) and he has had to step up and be the “man” of the house, but he has no one he can turn to himself to help him. Until he sees Cara in the library. Cara changes the way Ash has been with girls.
“I’ve felt like nothing for so long, Ash…You make me feel like I’m something…like I matter.”
Ash starts to pursue Cara daily to go on a date with him Cara finally decides to go. From here they build a great friendship which in turn turns to love. I love how Beth brought these two characters to life. Their relationship was a built up one. They learned about each other and then fell in love.
“You’re the only one I’ve wanted, Cara, since the moment I first saw you… It’s your eyes that invaded my dreams, your body that fulfills my fantasies, your beautiful spirit that’s taken over my heart. It’s you, Cara.”
This is a must read for everyone who loves a great story, that builds from the beginning into an amazing relationship with a HEA. Yes you will need tissues, yes you will get angry, your heart will break for these two throughout this book but in the end I truly think you will be happy for them.
"Don't ever look down. Someone so beautiful should always be looking up."
As always Beth thank you for another amazing story, thank you for bringing Ashton and Cara into my world and my heart. They will forever be remembered by me.

Most of you should know by now that Darra and I read Love, Love by Beth Michele a few months ago and totally fell in love with her writing. I was so EXCITED about Lovely coming out and could not wait to read it. I finished this book in less than a day. Granted I was up until about 2:30 in the morning reading but hey...it was THAT GOOD!
I really like Ashton. He is a total man-whore but you have to love him. I mean I was sitting there going where was this guy when I was in college??? He is crazy sweet to his family and does whatever he needs to do to help his mom take care of his younger brother and sister. I mean who can't get on board with that??? I really love that he was very unapologetic about being a slut. I really liked that he was over the top sweet when he figured out that he wanted Cara. I also liked that she did not just automatically fall for his lines and end up another notch on his bedpost.
There is a serious jaw dropping moment in this book. I mean I had to email Beth Michele as soon as I finished this book. She seriously stressed me out. I can't tell you but Beth is now an author that I will automatically buy her books even without knowing what they are about. I love her guys!!!
I am giving this book 4.5 stars out of 5. GO GET THIS BOOK ASAP!!!

This book is a rare one in that it is written from the male character’s perspective. It was a nice change of pace and I really enjoyed it. The story was full of love, heartbreak, trust, and family. The characters were complex and the story drew me in from the very beginning.
Even though Ashton had to woo Cara a bit in the beginning, you can tell there is this instant chemistry between them. Cara is compassionate and kind despite her childhood. Ashton is sexy and starts off as a player but things change when he sees Cara for the first time. They had similarities from their past that helped them to connect on a different level and learn from each other. I was immediately drawn to both of them and felt emotions on their behalf.
The characters were well written, including the secondary characters. They story line was heartfelt and heartbreaking at times. It had emotion and not just from Ashton and Cara. This was an excellent story and I believe it deserves a 5 out of 5 stars.

Beth Michele does it again with such a beautifully written love story. As soon as I read the first chapter I knew I was hooked. I just fell in love with Ashton. He is such a wonderful guy and Cara is so sweet and caring. There are so many emotions that run through as you read their story. There is sadness, laughter, anger and to me that makes for a fantastic book. LOVED this book!! I highly recommend this book. Make sure you have Kleenex handy. I was tearing up quite a bit. Congrats hon and I can’t wait to read your next book. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

I loved this book. The start of the book was hard to get past because well, Ash was a douch. Later on he redeems himself and the story progesses great after that. Now that being said, the epilouge was difficult to get past. I HATE that it was left like that, but at least there was a HEA.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Ash, a reformed womanizer, is inexplicably drawn to Cara, the super shy librarian. She hides behind oversized glasses hoping to go unnoticed by everyone…especially Ash. However, she achieves the opposite effect as Ash is even more intrigued by this mysterious beauty who wants absolutely nothing to do with him. He was pretty relentless in his pursuit of her and honestly I don't know how she managed to hold out for as long as she did b/c Ash really knows how to lay the charm on thick! But I'm glad she did, b/c he had to work that much harder to prove that he was serious and interested in more than just a "flavor the the week" type deal.
Lovely is a beautifully told story with an amazing cast of characters and a story line that will have you completely invested. Be prepared to experience every emotion under the sun, b/c Beth Michele will have you on one hell of an emotional roller coaster. One minute you'll be swooning, the next laughing and the next crying. So just make sure you have a box (or two) of tissues handy b/c this one is an absolute tear-jerker!
I'm quickly becoming a fan of stories told through the male POV! I imagine it can't be easy (especially for a female author) to channel the spirit of a man so I give tons of kudos to Beth Michele for doing such an awesome job and keeping me thoroughly entertained in the process. Ash is definitely one of a kind. He can easily give these other book boyfriends a run for their money! I mean, he's hot, he sings, he can make pancakes (my favorite breakfast food) and he's so incredibly selfless, always putting the needs of others before his own. He's a gem!
My only issue is with the ending. I wasn't completely happy with it. Just when you think it's smooth sailing you get totally blind sided & absolutely devastated. Yes, there is a HEA, but at what cost?? A pretty big one as far as I'm concerned! It's glossed over rather quickly too which increases the shock value.
***End of spoiler***
All in all, I definitely enjoyed Beth Michele's second novel. She has without a doubt become one of those authors whose books I would buy just b/c her name is on it! Well done!
