Love's Prayer is so much more than a romance. It deals with some deep issues--depression, suicide, and alcoholism. These issues aren't taken lightly or brushed under the table. They are portrayed in a realistic manner. While these issues are prominent parts of the story, Love's Prayer is never dark and depressing. It is full of hope and love. Summer and Ben are wonderful characters who deserve to find happiness and love. The town of Sweet Grove is full of interesting and quirky characters who deserve their own books. (And will get them.) I would have liked Sunny Sunshine to have had a bigger part in the story. He is comical! The ending is a tad bit corny but it worked in this story. While faith and prayer are important parts of this story, there is no preaching and no specific religion mentioned. I really didn't feel the chemistry between Ben and Summer. Ben needs more time to deal with all the issues in his life--IMO. I am looking forward to reading the next book in The First Street Church Romances.

I enjoyed this story. I'd already read book #2 in the series, so I wanted to read this one as well. It was a wonderful story of faith, love, family and friends. It tells a story of how life can appear to be at it's bleakest, and a little faith and love can help turn it around. In this case, both Summer and Ben were at different crossroads in their journey through life. Together with the town of Sweet Grove they were able to find the right path. I'm looking forward to reading more about the people of Sweet Grove.

This was a pretty good story and was written about hard life problems that could happen to any one else. It was so well written that you could relate to the characters, especially if you might have experience their problems. I loved all of the characters, even the secondary ones. Copy of book gifted by Author in exchange for an honest review.

This is the first book for Ms. Storm in this series and what a book to start with. I cannot tell you how serious this book is when it comes to what topics this book deals with and it is with everyday, real problems but they are real serious problems. It is how she deals with the problems is what makes this book so rock solid and so worth the read. She moves you as a reader and a person and as a Christian. Your faith is sought out through the characters and you hurt for them and rejoice with a Christian heat when things go good and you cry when things hurt - you will feel a lot of things with this book and I tell you this is so worth it to read.. I received a copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I received this book in exchange for an "honest"review. I would have given this a 10 star rating if there was one.. This is such an amazing story..of love, courage, taking a chance, and getting a miracle. When Ben was so close to ending his life,he asked for a miracle in Gods help, but when it happened so naturally,he had his doubts..was this new florist named Summer, really the answer to his prayers? after all,she was just a temporary fill in at her aunts flower shop and probably not going to be around long...but what he did not know,is that he, was Summers savior that she never even knew she needed...such a strong and powerful story that will make you laugh, make you cry..and yes, believe in answers to your prayers. this is such a powerful story with a very powerful message....and if I had to describe this book in 1 word,it would be"Believe"..great job here Melissa !

This was a well-written, sweet, uplifting book. Summer Smith has come to Sweet Grove, TX to run her aunt's flower shop for the season while she decides what to do next with her life. Ben Davis gave up his plans to attend college when a tragedy occurred in his family. He is nearly to the point of suicide when he sends one last plea to God, not even sure if he believes. They unexpectedly meet and I enjoyed seeing them start to build faith, hope and love, while learning to believe in each other and themselves. This book is a standalone story that is the first in a series of sweet and wholesome small-town love stories with the community church at its center. I am looking forward to reading more of the books in this series. I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

This is an inspirational romance - 1st in the First Street Church series set in the fictional small town of Sweet Grove, TX. The simple plot brings together Ben Davis and Summer Smith with the help of divine intervention. The author does an admirable job in this book exploring the depths of depression experienced by Ben and his mother. Thanks Melissa for the copy of this book!

This is the first in a new series, First Street Church Romances, by author Melissa Storm. It’s refreshing to read a Christian romance and this author knows how to write them. With this story, you get love, faith, prayers and a little bit a church all in one book. The story is about Summer Smith who while she is watching her aunts flower shop needs to decide what to do with her life. Then Ben Davis is living a life he didn’t want. After his bother shoots himself and commits suicide in the middle of the small town, his mother becomes an alcoholic and he has given up his dreams to take care of her. When Summer and Ben met, they feel an instance attraction. Summer doesn’t want to start anything since she is only there a few months but love seems to have a mind of its own. The story continues as their love grows, the town grows to love Summer and how to help with Ben’s mother. Even though Ben doesn’t believe in God in the beginning by the end he knows who is in control. I received this as an ARC for an honest review and I recommend it to all those who like to read sweet, Christian romances.

This is a great book, full of emotions. The characters are well developed. I felt that I was right there with all of them. The town is great and loving. Some of the characters are in the process of overcoming addiction and other problems. The power of prayer is at work and love is blooming. I love Melissa Storm's stories and I can't wait for the next installment.
