Overview

Brothers in Arms, Book Three.

Valentine Westridge and Kurt Schillig are lovers, and have been since the Peninsular War when lonely young officer Valentine let himself be seduced by the equally lonely Kurt. Now they're back from the war and intent on beginning the future they dreamed of together, one that includes a quiet country estate, horses, dogs, children, and each other. Their plan, however, also requires a wife. At the suggestion of a mutual friend, Valentine and Kurt believe the financial security they can offer to impoverished widow Leah Marleston will help her accept the unusual sexual relationship they are suggesting.

Leah is at her wit's end, creditors having taken everything she owns to pay off her late husband's gambling debts. She must find a way to support herself and her two children, or be forced to marry her abusive and obsessive brother-in-law. In Valentine's and Kurt's arms, Leah discovers a passion she never knew existed. Brought together by necessity, bonded by desire, these three lonely people find themselves fighting against all odds for a love that was never part of their plans.

I love the brothers in arms series, but feel this one was lackin

I love the brothers in arms series, but feel this one was lacking. It was too short with little development of the relationship/characters. There was potential for a much greater book here.

    Short but sweet

Love this series, though this is the short and least developed of the stories; still recommend for the good romance.

    more from this reviewer

    Raunchy Regency Romp

Period details and tight writing allowed me to stretch my acceptance of the idea of the characters defying the stringent social protocols of the time. However, I think that for this story to really have been a winner, it needed fleshed out a bit more - no pun intended! Another chapter or two would have provided a higher level of satisfaction, in my opinion.

    Costs too much

The story is good. But to cost the same as a 200 plus page book is a rip off. This should have cost $2.99 at the most.

    Highly recommended-Pleasure to Read

Samantha Kane's, "Brothers in Arms," series are all excellent. I enjoy these books all of them have adult themes and scenarios. I loved the first story so much, I purchased all the rest.
