Overview

Bree Hudson arrives in big-city Chicago from a small Mississippi town ready to set the world on fire. A newly-minted attorney with an eye on the big leagues, she quickly discovers that her brains are not enough in the dog-eat-dog world of a major law firm. When her supervisor pressures her to sleep with him, and when a family crisis forces her to make bad decision after bad decision, she discovers that the only person in her corner is the owner of the firm himself, Robert Colgate, a man who favors Bree from the start and ends up breaking every rule he has lived by, including sleeping with and craving the young and brilliant Bree, even though she works for him.

But when Robert finds himself accused of sexual harassment, it is Bree who ends up in his corner, not only to help get his good name back, but to help him through turbulent nights where their unbridled passion for each other becomes a powerful antidote to the craziness around them.

Bree and Robert forge a different kind of interracial love affair, the kind built on trust and need and perseverance. And even when Robert’s son comes into the picture, and attempts to drag his mother, Robert’s ex, back in with him, it is that very love that’s tested over and over, almost to the breaking point.

    Good Read! Highly recommended...

I read this in one day. The female lead is from low income family & is trying to win a spot in the law firm. She is financially responsible for her mother & her siblings. She meets the head of the law firm and there is an attraction. The story is about the decisions people are forced to make when their back is against the wall. This includes content on sexual harassment, step-children, trust fund babies and interracial romance.

    Pretty good

I have to say I did enjoy this book. There were a few areas where I would have like the author to add to and I would have liked a different ending, maybe a year later over view. But oner all I will probably give author 1 more try

It was a good book. It showed how far a father is willing to go for his children

    I absolutely loved this read.

I started this book and did not put it down until I had finished it. I enjoyed the fact that Robert loved Brianna because of who she was inspite of where she came from. While it may not be completely realistic, as others pointed out, it was truly a romance story. I like this writer.

    Not Very Good

Okay, I understand that the book is in the erotica romance category, but the writing was horrible, the characterers unlikeable, and the story line -- while fantasy -- wasn't even close to believable. I was hoping I would find some redeeming quality by the end of the book, but it never happened. Bree was annoying, and Robert was...I don't even know where to begin, so I won't. Not worth reading.

    Fairly good book

This book was pretty good. I think Bree's character was not realistically developed. She did not come across as a brilliant lawyer in any way shape or form. The attraction of Robert to her was not believable. If Bree had been developed as a realistic lawyer, the book would have been much, much better.
