Overview

She is on the verge of losing everything…
To save her home and keep her two younger siblings safe, Louisa Evans must turn to the head of the family that ruined hers.

He needs an heir…
The Marquess of Overlea is starting to show signs of having inherited the same illness that killed his father and older brother. To prevent the marquisate from falling into the hands of an unscrupulous cousin, Overlea must secure an heir before that illness also claims him.

But he is determined not to be the father of that heir…
Overlea’s plan is simple—marry the practical, yet desperate, Miss Evans and hold Louisa to her promise to provide him with an heir. But he waits until after they are married to tell his wife that he intends to have another man father that heir. His careful plan becomes complicated by an almost desperate need to claim Louisa for himself and an outside threat that proves even more dangerous than his illness.

A lovely historical romance! Loving the Marquess was a fantastic romance that kept me guessing. The idea for this book is a little different. I've only scene something similar in one other book. So, I was curious. But, I was also worried t hat the issue of Nicholas not fathering the heir would be dragged out, which would have made the book a torment. However, it was well  handled. Things weren't exactly as they appeared and that changed the game for Nicholas and Louisa.  Louisa was a great heroine. She was strong and determined to protect her family. But, she also knew when she needed to ask for  help, which I really appreciated. She wasn't the type to give in easily, especially to a demand as outrageous as Nicholas'. She was definitely a likable character. Nicholas was equally wonderful. He fears the illness that claimed his father and brother and that has shaped his life.  And, despite his  crazy plan, he was a good man who was just trying to do what he though was best for everyone, though he got it totally wrong. He was  very sweet and easy to adore.  Louisa and Nicholas had an interesting relationship with they way it started off. But, even with that confusion, their feelings for each other deepened. They were so sweet together and, once it happened, very spicy in the bedroom. The plot was fast paced. There were tons of surprises in store. There were twists and turns that totally took me off guard. And the  ending was brilliant. Romance lovers, Loving the Marquess was a wonderful historical romance that you should definitely give a read. *Thanks to Netgalley and the author for a copy!

I feel like I read a completely different book than everyone else writing those 5 star reviews. The characters had absolutely no dept and the story became soooooo tedious after 50 pgs. I kept reading hoping the story would get better since it had all those raving reviews. No such luck. I wish people would write more honest reviews for those of us who actually buy books instead of those people that write ''honest" reviews to receive FREE books.

I really enjoyed this book. It was predictable but it was a shock to realize who was doing it.

What a great book! The author kept my attention the whole book through. The suspense of finding out what was causing the Marquess' episodes made it impossible for me to put the book down till the end. I am looking forward to the nest book in the series. A must read.

I have put off reading Loving the Marquess (it’s been on my To Be Read list for a long time) and I have absolutely no idea why. The blurb caught my attention, which is why it was on my TBR list, but for some reason I just never picked it up. Now I regret it, because this book is quite enjoyable. I really liked both Overlea and Louisa. He’s your typical stubborn lord, convinced that he knows best and clueless to his emotions. She’s sweet but strong, having to take care of her family from an early age. They are definitely a good match for each other Medeiros is a relatively new author but she shows a lot of promise. Loving the Marquess is perfect for those looking for a historical romance – the characters will keep you turning the pages and a touch of mystery will have you coming back for more. This is not a cliffhanger. The storyline was new. An illness that could be genetic was an interesting twist. I found the characters interesting and refreshing. If you enjoy puzzles, romance, and mystery; you will find this a good selection!

I loved this book and though it was somewhat predictable. The who done it was a shock. I am searching for Cathetine and Kerrick now that will be an interesting book.

This was a nice light read. I like books where the characters actions make sense, this one didn't disappoint.

Was a good read, especially for a free novel. The plot was pretty obvious but still fun to read.
