    compassionate and moving

    Ryken gives unloving people a sense of hope that we might be transformed to love, even when the cost is large. By showing how Jesus lived out each of the phrases in the "love chapter" (1 Cor 13), he also shows how the transforming power of the gospel can change a hard heart into one that truly loves with commitment and self-sacrifice. Recommended if you find yourself impatient, exasperated or harsh towards someone you are supposed to love (including God).
