The Low-Carb Cookbook isn’t a boring cookbook filled with bland, bread-less and pasta-less recipes. It tells you how to make cheeseburger-stuffed peppers, Thai shrimp stir-fry, chicken tortilla soup, and chocolate truffles! Never has adapting to a new diet sounded so good! The cookbook also has sections explaining the health benefits of a low-carb diet, and how to easily make the transition.

Why choose a low- carb diet for weight loss? Because once you have an understanding of how a high carbohydrate diet converts to sugar and gets stored as fat which leads to complications such as diabetes, high blood pressure and mood swings you take steps to leading a more healthier lifestyle. This book has some amazing and easy recipes to choose from. I cannot wait to get started!!

I’ve been trying to go low-carb for a while without the help of a nutritionist or any professional help. My sister recommended this book and I’ve been using the recipes for about a couple weeks now – my favorites include: open-face omelet with goat cheese for breakfast, bacon-stuffed mushrooms for snack…I mean c’mon, bacon while I’m dieting – I’ll take it, and the ricotta gnocchi for dinner. So delicious!

This book is a great starting point for those looking to begin the low carb lifestyle.  It is easy to read, breaks down sections into clear explanatory points, provides great recipes and debunks popular myths regarding low carb.  The recipes are the best part, but the first section is not to be skipped.  It provides you with all the “whys” in regards to low carb living.  The alternatives given as well as real life tips for cooking and eating out are GREAT.  Two thumbs up.  I received this book for free.

I like that this cookbooks teaches you how to cook food that reduces the risks of life-threatening diseases—instead of only showing you how to lose weight. It also includes a 14 day meal plan to help you get started, and 125 easy to follow recipes. The first chapters introduce the basics of a low-carb lifestyle to readers, and show the benefits of these food options. The guidelines and advice given would be great for either a beginner to this lifestyle, or anyone wanting new healthy recipes!

This book is perfect for learning how to eat a low carb diet. The recipes that I found in this book were for foods that I already love only turned low carb. I have already tried one recipe and it was amazing!

This title outlines the differences in the popular diets of today; Atkins, South Beach and Paleo, and provides a list of simple and complex carbohydrates to avoid. The recipes have an American flair; salads like the waldorf and iceberg, Onion soup and chili are twists on a classic theme. My new trick picked up from this book is baking quiche without the crust; it's delicious and easy, like all of the recipes here.

This is nice in that the first 5 chapters offer info on carbohydrates and tips to get you started in low carb eating. However, a few recipes seem to be suspect on the carb to protein ratio, such as the blueberry muffins. Though they contain “low” carbs, do they have much protein? I guess I thought a low carb diet, is also a high protein diet...not JUST “low” carbs. Overall, though this is a very informative book with lots of great recipes for low carb eating.

The Low Carb Cookbook is the perfect way to learn just how much of an effect carbohydrates have on your diet and overall health.  You’ll see that there’s a big difference between “good” and “bad” fats and carbohydrates.  Plus, it’s loaded with recipes, including desserts, and explains how you can still enjoy delicious food without gaining unnecessary weight.    Most importantly, this book will teach you how to enjoy a healthier way of living.  It’s laid out clearly and is a pleasure to read.

It proves that this is not a fad, but a good lifestyle choice for anyone interested in weight loss and an improved mood, among other perks. This book is realistic, and isn’t overly limiting. The low-carb adherent will never feel deprived, and is even encouraged to splurge, infrequently. The included recipes are varied and mouthwatering. This is truly a great introductory read for anyone considering taking steps to a healthier self.

This is a good cookbook for those new to low carb dieting, with basics about weight loss and health benefits and tips for shopping, cooking and eating low carb. With so many satisfying low carb recipes such as eggs, swiss chard and mushroom saute, fish tacos with mango salsa, and skirt steak with garlic herb sauce, I don’t think I’ll be craving pasta, rice or bread.

I found this book an easy read and easy to follow the guidelines with a bit of effort. Not “just a cookbook” it offers knowledge to help make real change in ones diet that paves the way for real weight loss. The author writes in such a way as make it clear what real weight loss entails and how anyone can make the right adjustments with their normal diet to facilitate this change. I began using the ideas and recipes in this book 8 days ago and have lost 11 pounds…I think that speaks for itself!

The Low Carb Cookbook was a very easy book to read. It explained the definition of carbohydrates, and broke these down into the two main types: simple and complex. Also listed were simple versus complex carbohydrates, and alternatives on how to stay away from too many carbohydrates. The book also listed different names of low carb diets available and their benefits. I feel that if I were someone considering a low carb diet, I would have an easy time reading this book and following the suggestions to keeping on a low carb diet.

Losing Weight Painlessly! As someone overweight who loves to cook and eat, I found this book to be quite helpful with the information provided in the first section with easy tips for cutting back carbohydrates without depriving myself. I learned how to minimize portions properly, add more protein to get the energy I thought I was getting from the carbs, and how to order when eating out. I will be referring to the shopping list for low carb substitutions that the recipes in the book include. I’m a compulsive recipe reader and as a vegetarian I was pleasantly surprised to find some great low carb vegetarian recipes, for example, the high protein Cottage Cheese Pancakes, the Thai Soup with Coconut and Tofu (I’ll leave out the fish sauce, of course) and the Cauliflower Hashbrowns will be the first ones I try. This book is easy to understand and follow.

I've stayed away from low carb diets in the past because high carb foods are just so quick and easy to prepare. This book is loaded with great ideas for preparing quick low carb meals and snacks. The breakfast burrito with a thin scrambled egg in place of tortilla is a great idea for breakfast. I also found the book to be helpful for the Paleo diet (a type of low carb diet).
