Earnest and Schlesinger assert that consuming a cup of oat bran a day significantly reduces one's cholesterol level, and to this end, they have created more than 300 oat-based recipes for all courses of a meal. The recipes are varied enough, with Chicken Salsa and Fish Creole as well as bran muffins and tofu burgers, but one wonders how many readers will want to follow the rather demanding basic regimen.
