Overview

LSD: Love, Sensuality and Devotion gathers over a decade's worth of Enigma's definitive tracks, including the song that started it all, "Sadeness, Pt. 1." "Return to Innocence," "Beyond the Invisible," and "Cross of Changes" are all featured as well, and though the collection ranges from the rock-tinged "I'll Love You...I'll Kill You" to atmospheric, electronic fare like "Shadows in Silence," since it's all essentially Michael Crétu's vision, it flows surprisingly well. Since Enigma's sound has varied fairly drastically over the years, LSD: Love, Sensuality and Devotion is the perfect starting point for anyone curious about Crétu's music, and the only Enigma album that casual fans might need.

Enigma's interpretation of music is altogether seunsual, relaxing, beautiful, free-falling and sensitive. I love you, I'll kill you has got to be the best song ever. The entire album is (mostly) a great collection. There are a few songs on Enigma's albums that aren't on here that need to be heard. But what I find lovely about their music is that I don't know whether to have sex, dance or lay back, close my eyes and just enjoy the sounds.

Possibly the best compilation ever...lots of influences, fusion of indian classical (15),tons of french inputs too (10)(12)(13), it also has a 'remixed' version of what i believe is popularly known as the 'Old Spice Theme'/'Camera Obscura'(the gothic piece)...(3)(5)......songs like Gravity of Love, Silence Must Be Heard which are not as popular as some of the rest are well worth a listen,(though i would suggest you go ahead and buy this set, blindfolded)......i would have surely rated this 5*s if it had two of my all time favourite tracks.....The Child In Us and The Rivers of Belief(this is found on the vcd though, both deserve a ear or two)...all said and heard.....grab a copy asap!!!!

The bad thing is I don't actually own this CD, but being a long standing fan of Enigma and owning over 15 or so of thier CD's (Lots of German, Japanese, and Aussie imports) I know all of the songs listed here. The bad thing is, the track list mirrors exactly what one of my Enigma best of mix cd's would look like. This is a great introduction to the of Enigma, and I recommend it to anyone who has heard that ''one'' song on the radio before and wanted more like it. From what I have heard and seen, there isn't a dissapointing track on the whole cd, and it does offer a mixture which the actual orginal cd's don't have. Anyone who has ever been a fan of Enigma can talk of the evolution that its music has taken over time, and how straight forward each cd was in its own path following this evolutional pattern. But this cd does an excelent job of mixing it up. Highly recommended for new and old fans alike!

This is one cool collection, I must say. I found the tunes to be powerful and moving. Enigma makes beautiful music and this album is an even greater treat for all its listeners. It brings together the best of Enigma like never before. Buy it - you won't regret it.

While enticed by other artists such as Enya and Loreena Mckennitt, Engima was not a disappointment, just a better way to let go. By utilizing amazing sound, such as the enchanting lead vocals and the mystical background chorus mixed with the superb electronica taste, not only did this album put me to sleep easier, but it made me forget the problems of life and seemingly "let go" of my mind. It took me to places so remarkable, it's hard to come back. I hope it did the same for all who hear it.

The only song by this group thatI was aware of was ''Return to Innocence'', but I have found that this CD is a fantstic introduction to a genre os music that, frankly I don't listen to. Yes the atmosphere of the songs is very sensual, and hypnotic...listening to this has been a pleasure. One of the influences I can hear but is not mentioned is the instrumental tracks from the Alan Parsons Project. A very potent CD and I hope it brings pleasure to those who hear it.
