Lt. Tackett's Daily Report
Lt. Tackett's Daily Report is a glimpse into the hidden drama that goes on daily both on the street and in the firehouse. The reader gets to look over the author's shoulder through a compilation of journal-style entries and share the triumphs and tragedies of a twenty-seven year personal and professional adventure. The reader also gets to meet some of the ordinary men and women who become extraordinary during times of crisis.

Lt. Tackett's Daily Report takes place in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s in Willoughby, Ohio but the stories are timeless and universal. Because they are about real people and real situations, the stories will sometimes be humorous, sometimes be unresolvable, and many times be unexplainable.

Lt. Tackett's Daily Report has rescues, fires, and personal events but also includes a few of the major forces that reshaped an entire fire department such as the legal and political roadblocks of starting a paramedic service, the lawsuits over testing discrimination, the mandatory AIDS testing for firefighters at a time when no one knew what caused the disease or how it was transferred, and the challenges of hiring women firefighters for the first time.
