This book has so much valuable information that will help my daughter with her college transition. It also had information that I never even thought of that I can use being an adult in my own home. I have cooked a number of the recipes and they were perfect. The lamb stew is out of this world! I also gave this book as an affordable gift for all her her friends that will be freshman also.

My daughter hadn't cooked a day in her life. Didn't even know how to clean a bathroom. This book was a lifesaver for her and my sanity. If you're looking to find a 500 page Betty Crocker textbook, not for you. My daughter wouldn't read 500 pages unless it was assigned at her new college. Was a good inexpensive investment.

The book is great for those starting out on their own. It does not have as many "practical everyday tasks" as I thought it would after watching the promo on the Today Show.

Lucia's Survival Guide and Cookbook is the best deal for the money for those who are going out on their own for the first time. I gave the book to my godchild and after she read it she realized that Mom and Miss Carol wouldn't be there to help her. It has finally sunk in that she's on her own.

It was really hyped on the CBS morning news as an awesome book for young people just starting out on their own, so I searched local bookstores to give one as a Christmas gift to my niece who is in her early 20's and always asking questions about such things. It arrived after Christmas and I had already told her I had ordered her a cool book... but it was small and thin... not much to it at all. I was very disappointed and embarrassed. I guess I should have cued on the fact that it was only 112 pages!
