All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Originally, Lucky Numbers was only intended for sale in Las Vegas, since the ten songs on the disc are all, in some way, about luck and gambling. It's entertaining, to be sure -- how could it not be when it boasts "Theme from New York, New York," "The Boys' Night Out," "Luck Be a Lady," "That's Life," "Pennies from Heaven," and "Here's to the Losers" among the featured tracks? -- but it's utterly inconsequential and not at all revelatory. Perhaps it will appeal to casual fans enamored of the Chairman of the Board's masculine swagger, since they'll prefer the image to the music, but any collector will have the best of this material on better collections.
